This is bungie’s vision not activision’s
It was always Bungie's. Give it a rest and stop being an apologist for a company that has taken 9ish years to find a direction for their own creation
a company that has taken 9ish years to find a direction for their own creation
9ish years? Destiny has only been out for 5 years (in two releases) Before D1 released, Destiny had a vision .....but then the BungieManagement & Activision got greedy, cut up his work and forced him out the door! (Oh and Destiny 1 was in stages (conception/development) of for around 7-8 years before it was released in 2014

  • 9ish was a deliberately low-ball estimate of pre-production and release added together. Which you actually acknowledge in your own response ☺

  • But your ‘9ish’ comment doesn’t work Because upto 2014, they had a vision Then Activision popped along, wowed the Bungie management with 💰💰💰💰, and that Destiny visionary was fired, content was torn apart, carved up and stuck back together as monetary dlc So let’s blame that partnership from 2014 onwards!

  • Just to clarify, ATVI didn’t just pop up in 2014. That contract was entered into agreement by the two parties in 2010, April 16th to be exact. https://destiny.fandom.com/wiki/Bungie-Activision_Contract “9’ish years” is pretty darn spot on accurate.

Bungie have had ALL THAT TIME and only NOW think that they have found a vision. So yes, 9 does work

  • The difference between the Old Bungie (inclusive of Staten, Marty etc) & this iteration of NewBungie (Bungled), is the quality of developers, live teams & writers that since were fired/left after 2014... & the lesser quality replacements (so far we’ve had the chap who was lead on the flop ME:Andromeda, some Star Trek fanfiction writer etc, all lead by a bloke with a degree in EngLit & a resume that states blogging as work... no actual recognised technical skills in game design/physics/computer science/art etc

  • Yes, but contextually Bungie have NOW decided on a direction, FIVE years after release. All you are arguing are simple semantics. The point stands. Bungie has been working for over NINE years, and NOW say they have it figured out.

Oh geez! This BUNGIE isn’t THAT Bungie This is Luke Smith’s influences & a lesser crew since 2017 Forget what you know about D1 lore/hope/vision etc Because D2 Bungie is just gonna treat it with contempt & decimate it D2 might as well have been developed by another studio (much like when the dire Ghostbusters 2016 was created as a film....sacrilege!)

  • The Bungie that made decent games hasn't been around for YEARS. Again, read the articles provided and understand that Bungie could never decide on a cohesive vision for this franchise, ever. No matter who is at the company now, they are claiming a vision FIVE years after release. That is a fact. I have said my piece.

  • You obviously don’t understand the hold activision had on Bungie, and why Bungie was willing to pay a enormous sum of money to be free from them.

  • I just read the contract too, and o boy nothing I mention was under the contract as something activision wasn’t allowed to do. You don’t think they manipulated bungie to get what they wanted done? Really?

If you read the contract then you know that Activision didn’t have control over the content of the game or the EV. So basically you know you’re blaming them for nothing.

  •
Also, do you hear the circus music? It gets louder when I am around you.
Yeah I know you can’t make any actual valid points since you know you’re wrong so lame attempts at insults is all you have.

  •
“Lame” you just confirmed my insult,
I mean, the attempt was pathetic, so lame is an accurate assessment. Too bad you don’t have a point so we can’t have a discussion.

  • Bungie paid activision 91 million dollars to split. We have seen the articles about activision and there money hungriness. Stop blinding yourself to what activision is doing and has done to gaming. I wonder why I company would pay that much to a publisher. They most have the exact vision, and were perfectly okay with each other, right? Haha. You could tell in the first shadowkeep vidoc the mood if the studio was more joyful than ever before. The studio was free from their capture, after a long road.

  • Bungie bought the publishing rights from Activision in order to self-publish Destiny in future. The Destiny IP was always Bungie's as made crystal clear in the contract The facts have already been pointed out to you, but I thought I'd have a try at making it so simple even someone like you could understand it

They paid money for the publishing rights to destiny so they didn’t lose everything they had worked for. Activision was happy to get paid to cut dead weight. Bungie has officially said over and over that they made the design choices for Destiny and Eververse, and the actual publishing contract backs up those statements. Trying to make Activision the scapegoat for Bungie’s mistakes is just setting yourself up for disappointment on top of being factually untrue.

  • You seem to be an idiot. Why would they want publishing rights if there was no problems, especially for that sum. Also If you read down below my replies to your post you should see that I believe Bungie has made a lot fo terrible decisions for destiny’s integrity. Sorry that wasn’t clear for you. Activision wasn’t a cause for all of destiny’s problems, but to ignore there influence destiny would be just as idiotic as believe they are the embodiment of destiny’s mistakes. You really seem like a guy planning to go shopping for groceries at a Home Depot.
