Aifos Tonight—a weekly general gaming post (8)

Good evening everybody! This is Aifos coming to you alive from Aifos Tonight! So why don’t we jump in with our interview, with everyone’s favorite bird, Jet! Er.. Jet? An Interview with Jet the Hawk
Jet: “Ugh, this is stupid! Why do I have to be on this idiotic show!?” Wave: “Maybe you forgot how much we’re getting paid for this.” Er, Jet..? Jet: “What do you want?” We’re live... Jet: “And? What do I care?” Wave: “(hushed)That means be on your best behavior, or we’re out of our money!” Jet: “Hmph! Fine.” So, ahem, you’re an Xtreme Gear racer right? Jet: “The best you’ll ever see!” I don’t doubt it! According to my records here you’re a speed type racer. That would put you in the same class as Sonic, wouldn’t it? Jet: “It might be the same class, but definitely not on the same level! I’ll beat that hedgehog any day!” I see, I see! Have you ever considered car racing? Jet: “What?” You know, with cars? Jet: “No way! My ride is the board!” Are you sure? There’s this racing tournament run by Dodo- Jet: “Shut it! I don’t want to hear about it! I don’t use cars!” Shame. I suppose it’s time to move on then..
Well, it’s onto our next segment! This one’s brand new, and totally not ripped off from another fictional talk show! That’s right, it’s time for, Hit that Bird! The Helmeroc King—Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Helmeroc King is a massive bird in the Wind Waker, who kidnaps your sister at the beginning of the game, mistaking her for the pirate Tetra. As the game progresses, you eventually find out that the Helmeroc King is also the guardian of the evil Forsaken Fortress, and servant of Ganondorf. Eventually you fight the Helmeroc King, smashing his mask with the great Skull Hammer, and driving the Master Sword into its skull!
What a happy ending! Now, moving on! The Sound of OSTs Lugia’s Song—Pokémon 2,000
Okay, this is technically cheating, since Pokémon 2,000 is a movie, but it’s a video game based movie, so it counts. This song is played to imbue Lugia with strength, helping him keep harmony between the three Titans of Lightning, Ice, and Fire; Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres. I do wish there was a version without the trumpets, though.
Such a pretty song! And to round it all out, our final segment! Pretty Neat Games You Should Totally Try Sometime! Race the Sun
Race the Sun is a pretty simple game, where you drive a bird-shaped craft down a pseudo-randomly generated obstacle course. You’re solar powered, so you have to get as far as you can before the sun goes down. It’s not overly complex, but it’s nice when you want a simple game to relax to. If I remember, I think it was pretty cheap, too. Less than $10.
How about you? What are your favorite birds from video games? Any nice songs? What about a video game recommendation? In any case, that’s all for now, folks! Jambuhbye!

 •
What are your favorite birds from video games?
I'm not sure I really have one.... But as much as I dislike Bioshock: Infinite, I'd have to give it up for Songbird. The character design is just incredible.
Any nice songs?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8h7OP2d-1Zk Katana ZERO - "Snow" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahp7I9S3U20 Katana ZERO - "Full Confession" The whole OST is killer, these two songs just really stick out to me.
What about a video game recommendation?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfYBSWAOcZs Warhammer: Vermintide 2 I was really excited for this game when it came out, and I really enjoyed it. But, as with all games, I put it down for a while and my friends slowly drifted off it. I haven't been gaming at all for the past 10 days or so, but before I stopped I got back into this game hard. It's a brutal Left 4 Dead-esque horde run game in a medieval high fantasy setting. The characters feel unique, the talent trees offer diversity, the gearing system is fairly broad, the levels and objectives are fresh and challenging, the soundtrack is powerful, and the graphics are stunning. What I really love about this game, though, is how satisfying the hits are. You really feel the weight of a swing, and that meaty thud as you crack some skulls. By a long shot, this is the most satisfying first person melee combat I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. This is also a truly great co-op experience. If you can get some friends on this game and go to town on hordes of rats and Chaos, you're going to have a fun time. After that you can try to do in-game challenge runs and Heroic Deeds (quests).
