I understand the premise, human. It’s having to take extra steps to ensure it though. Maybe you should post that on OP’s post. They might appreciate that information.

  • Well now we are having a semantic debate. If I want to be alone at home I have to take steps out of a room where people are and go to a room where people aren't. I could argue you have to take MORE steps to be WITH people in this game than be without them, especially where playing content is concerned. But let's push all that aside... how exactly does solo content hurt you?

  • Developing dedicated solo content takes away time from developing multiplayer content which is why everyone else bought it.

  • I don't know. Seems the complexity of solo content would be pretty straightforward. And let's be honest... when public events such as Escalation Protocol and Blind Well lose their popularity (very quickly after people get the rewards they want) they become solo events - are they are abandoned. I would also suggest Daily Missions or Strikes could be easily tweaked to make solo options with modified loot pools and difficulty. The most likely thing to cause difficulty is restructuring the GUI to accommodate the new menu items. In reality that's creating new categories much like they do during special events. And, once it's done, it's done. New items in the menu category could be easily added.

A couple of those might be easy and I don’t see why they shouldn’t. Whenever you get into adding things that weren’t there though without lots of planning is tricky. I don’t know if the time and planning would be of best economic interest given the majority of players play content with others and expect to be able to. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against solo content, I’m just not going to pretend the game is meant to be it or that solo content should be developed as a primary means of garnering player attention.

  • I'm sorry, but doesn't there need to be actual content, you know, in order for all the selfish solo players to take it away.

  • Um. Touché? That’s more of a burn on Bungie it seems.

  • Heh heh, yeah.... I personally don't really care. I play this game to have fun, whether it be with a good friend or all by my lonesome. I like to create my own challenges and I love trying to solo as much of this games content as I can. On one hand, I hate the fact that I can't really solo the raids because of all the mechanics. On the other hand however, I understand that these particular activities were never intended to be that way, sooo... I guess what I don't really understand is why it hurts others, more specifically their egos, to include options and scaling for ALL players to enjoy.

  • I don’t really see how you came to the conclusion people are egotistical in the fact that they bought a game that was intended to be multiplayer and wanting multiplayer activities to be plentiful. Who has actively said “solo content shouldn’t exist?” I haven’t seen anything of the sort. Only people who question why others came to a multiplayer game for solo content.

  • Well, to be fair, I think you might have assumed that I was speaking of you. In which case, I apologize, if that's how it seemed. But, to also be fair, I think we both know that a lot of anti-solo posters have a tendency to not only come off as egotistical, but just down right demeaning and degrading. Serious question: What do you think a persons true intentions are when they tell others to "git gud" (just typing that made my brain hurt😬) or "gtfo". Those don't seem like constructive criticisms to me, as much as they seem like egotistical insults. Again, my apologies for any misunderstanding. Have a good one, Guardian and most importantly, have fun gaming!

  • You’re fine, mate. Even if it was at me I have a hard head. Cheers to you. 👌 I get you though. A lot of people don’t think or are contrarian simply to be so.
