Matchmaking in dungeons and nightfall's sounds like a decent idea but matchmaking in raids would end horribly.

  • Actually, matchmaking in raids is the perfect solution, and MUCH better than Guided Games. Instead of just watching videos and then trying to find an experienced group, newcomers could experience the raids without worrying about elitists. After they have experience, these gamers could then join raid groups through LFG. Or they could form their own group with others they have met through matchmaking. As for the rewards, limit the rewards for matchmaking in raids to strike level rewards. To obtain the better rewards would require LFG and an organized team.

Randos matched together would have to work just as hard as an LFG team or a clan team to get the rewards. They shouldn’t be limited just because they were matched with other players. Heck, they’d probably have to play even harder since it would almost be a guarantee that newcomers would be involved.

  • It'll be tons of fun not progressing past the first encounter after 5 hours then having people quit, then waiting another hour for someone to join. Not saying there shouldn't be optional matchmaking. . Just saying that it would never get used

  • It would get used a lot because there would be far less time with matchmaking than trying to find a group willing to accept an inexperienced player. Also, experience is better than just watching videos.

  • It'll be a lot of nothing getting done. Not sure if that counts as experience

  • I just want them to turn it on for the entertainment value. People complain about strike runners and afks all the time, the complaints about matcade groups would be genuinely hilarious. We could also finally put this argument to bed.

  • Bungie - Turns on matchmaking for raids. Trash solo players - Goes into a raid and gets kicked for being trash. Trash solo players - OMG this community is so toxic. Bungie - This is what you wanted.

  • How would they get kicked if it's matchmaking? There's no Fireteam Leader to do the kicking, surely? More likely someone would afk and 3 would depart and then there's just 2 people left doing emotes until they get bored. I'd say go with matchmaking for everything else but, yeah, in Raids I can't see it working out.

  • I just wanna see a group go in blind (because none of them want to watch a video) then expect to be taught by 5 other people in the same boat, with no one talking to each other.
