Aifos Tonight—A weekly general gaming post (7)

Good evening everybody! This is Aifos coming to you alive from Aifos Tonight! And not only that, but it’s bring your pet to work day! So, I bought the most cutest Mawile in the whole wide world! Say hi to the camera, Jane! Jane: “Mawi!” D’awwww! An interview (?) with Jane the Mawile
Everybody, this is my pet Mawile, Jane. Jane, those people over there are the audience! You’re on fictional television, isn’t that exciting! Jane: “Mawimawimawi, mamawi, mawile!” You’re so adorbable! Who wants a Pokésnack? Jane: “Mawi! Mawi!” Go get it! *tosses the Pokésnack into the air, and Jane catches it* Who’s my adorable little futakuchi-onna monster? Yes you are, yes you are! Let’s show the audience a trick! Jane: “Mamawi!” *Jane clamps her jaws on my hand, lifting hereself off the ground in the process* Owowowow! Jane! Let go! Owwww! Stop it! Papika! Papika: “Jane, you want a treat? Come here!” Jane: “Mawi!” *Jane releases her grip* *sniffles* Papika, can you get me some bandages?
Okay! Onto.. Ow.. Onto the next segment! The Sound of OSTs! Final Hours, the Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
For those unaware, Majora’s Mask takes place over the course of 3 days, that you can reverse back to the beginning at any time. This song plays during the final 6 hours of those 3 days, just before the end of the world. It’s sad, and hopeless, but also strangely soothing, and beautiful. It wasn’t uncommon for me to just sit in Clock Town, listening to this song before I reversed time.
Very relaxing. I almost forgot that I’m bleeding to death from Jane nearly biting my arm off. Storytime with Aifos CHICKEN!, Slime Rancher
So this one time I was.. Y’know, actually just.. Here, this one’s better if you just see it. https://gamerdvr.com/gamer/the-first-aifos/video/75218518
Alright, that happened! Well, onto our final segment! Games you might not have- What? I can’t use that title? Why not? Already taken? Jamblasted! Cool games! There! Vampyr
Vampyr is a game about.. Well, vampires. The main story is pretty good, though the ending’s kinda dumb, but where it really shines is the interactions with the civilians. Every civilian in the game has a backstory that you can discover by interrogating them, other civilians, and then just putting the pieces together. And then, you choise whether they live or die, as killing them gets you huge amounts of XP, with additional bonuses for the more you know about them. I feel like I didn’t explain it well, but I promise, it’s really good!
And that’s all for now, folks! I’m gonna go to a doctor for this bite wound, but before that, what about you? Got any good songs? Fun gaming stories? Any game recommendations? In any case, jambuhbye!

 •
Any game recommendations?
Unravel Two. Note: I didn't play the original, and I'm only about half way through this one, but it's really impressive. Basically, it's a puzzle platformer where you and a friend play as woolen creatures known as Yarnys. Most of the gameplay involves running around and jumping off things, but what makes it unique from other platformers is two things: For one, you either need a friend, or to control two characters at once in single player (I haven't tried single player mode so I can't speak for its quality) and two, a lot of the puzzles involve your lasso. You can use it to swing, build bridges, climb, and pull your friend onto ledges. And since you're both made of wool, you can also combine into a single character if one of you is struggling with the platforming sections*. There's also a story around watching the memories of two children but I won't spoil it. Partly because I don't understand it lol. Oh, and it also seems to have Pikmin inspiration, since you're tiny and thus a lot of the gameplay involves everyday objects and running from what should be small animals. It's really great! *This, of course, makes the game more accessible to inexperienced gamers, but if anything that just makes it more odd that there aren't any accessibility options. I mean, the game even has hints which can be turned on and off, but there isn't a way to replace holding button commands with simply pressing. And most of the game involves holding buttons for long periods of time. Imo, this is an oversight. But I still recommend the game.
