Fallout Off-topic [Part 1: Vault 101]
The following is the story of a roleplay going on between me, Toaster, Ronin, and Lee. It is based off of Fallout 3 with Toaster is the primary Dungeon Master. Lee's character is 'Gray", and Ronin's is "Troy".

In Vault 101, no one ever enters and no one ever leaves...
Troy and Gray were born into the safety of Vault 101. But as is to often the way of the new world, that happiness was tempered with sorrow, as their mother died directly after giving them life. Their Father, James did the best he could to raise his children the way he knew their mother would want them to be. The two matured in different ways, Gray becoming loud and strong willed, while her brother, though no less bold, took the quieter path. The Following Are Exceprts From James' Personal Log: Entry K194: It's the twins tenth birthday today. I'm so proud of them, they're both growing into the type of people I always knew they'd be. Good ones. If only she could see them today... Entry K195: I just have come back from the party, it went on without a...well, without too many hitches. The Cake was destroyed by that robot's sawblade, ah well, there's always next year. But that young boy, Butch, he made a stir at the party, demanding their sweetrolls! Luckily, officer Gomez was there to handle it and I was able to invite the two down to see their gift. Entry K196:Jonas and I spent forever it seemed to get those two bb guns for Troy and Gray, and they loved it! Jonas is a Godsend, a complete Godsend. Once we were done showing my fierce little game hunters the ropes with hunting radroaches, I had us all take a photograph together. It's times like these that help me remember that what I've left behind is wholly worth it. Every minute of it. Entry M21:Today, Troy and Gray will be taking their G.O.A.T. tests. This is a proud day for me, I couldn't word it anyway else. Entry M24: I got word from one of the teachers that the twins got into trouble with those "Tunnel Snakes", or whatever Butch has them call themselves, again. I'll have to talk them about fighting the other children, even the bullies. Though, secretly, I'm proud it. Entry M25: The results are in at last. Gray got herself the honor of pip-boy programmer, I know she'll learn much in that job. And Troy, well Troy will be shift supervisor. Maybe not a glamorous task, but one that will build character I know.. Entry Q101: Oh, Catherine...how am I suppose to do this without you? Those two, they're so special, they deserve more than just me. More than this damned vault in this blasted world...sometimes I don't they I can, I should go on, but then I see that frame. That frame with your favorite scripture, and it reminds me of the difference we can make, I can make, in our precious children's lives. I'll leave this here in case I need the encouragement again. God knows I shall. Revelation 21:6 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life, freely. End Of Private Logs === It has been there years since the G.O.A.T. The two woke up to Amata shaking them awake and alarms blaring through out the vault, upon getting the two up Amata said: "Come on, you've got to wake up!" “What’s going on, Amata?" Troy sat up and looked around quickly. "Your Dad is gone and my father is furious! You've got to go!" “Wait, gone? What do you mean?” Troy was instantly worried. "He left the Vault, he's gone!" “And you want us to follow him?" "My father is blaming you for your dad leaving and letting the radroaches in! You've got to hurry! " Amata a large rushed to explain. Gray wiped the sleep from her eyes and addressed Amata, "What?" "You have to go! I was able to snag this for you but I hope you don't have to use it." Amata handed Gray one 10mm pistol and some ammo. Gray quickly took the weapon. "Well there is a bright side then" "There's a secret tunnel to the vault entrance through my fathers office, I'll meet you there." Amata ran out of the room towards the door. “Gray, you keep the pistol.” Troy said as he snatched up their old bb guns and a baseball bat! Remembering the first aid kit on the wall, Troy collected a pair of stimpacks in case of emergency. "Great, this will help tons. " Gray exclaimed. “Awesome, let’s go!” Running out into the hall, one of the Vault security officers tried to stop them just before he was attacked by three radroaches coming from the vents. The two siblings rushed to help the man, killing the roaches swiftly. But war never changes. The guard, ungrateful for the help automatically tried to attack and kill the two. Before he could swing his baton, he was shot dead by Gray. Gray then took the gear off the guard, stating that it was "Not the most fashionable, but it'll work. " As they turned a corner, the old school bully, Butch ran up to them, panicked. "You gotta help me, my mother is suck in there with those radroaches!" "Yeah? Well up yours!" Gray yelled at him. Butch yelled back, anger in his voice. "You asshole, she's going to die in there!" Gray retorted. "How are we supposed to know? This could be a trap for all we know!?" "Fück you!" Butch called as he ran off to help his mother. Slowly, and with a sigh, Gray hesitated and said to her brother. "Let's go help him. " The two ran to the quarters of the family, but to their dismay it was already too late. Butch managed to kill the roaches, but his mother had died before he could. Deciding to quickly move on, the pair encountered Officer Gomez. Gomez looked at the two in dismay. "Oh no, it's you two. Look, just go and I'll pretend like I never saw you, you two were always good kids and your dad never did us wrong." With a heavy heart, Troy and Gray said their farewells to Gomez and moved on. Up ahead they could see the Overseer's quarters, where he was questioning his own daughter for the two's whereabouts. The two wearily decided that they couldn't risk going in to get her. She'd have to stay safe on her own. Sneaking by, they made it to the entrance of the Overseer's residence and office. Lying on the floor in a pool of blood was Jonas... "Oh my God... What the hell is going on!?" Gray looked horrified at the sight of their dead friend. "Jonas...no" Troy looked down, fist clenched. Then, in a barely audible whisper. “Gray, let’s go to the office. Maybe there’s something in there about Dad.” Arriving in the office which was nearby Jonas' body, Troy starts to look through the Overseer's computer. “Gray, look around for anything like a letter or something that he’d keep around." Looking at the computer, Troy fond reports of an out side town called Megaton and an option to open the escape tunnel. “I’ll keep this in mind for now... Gray, find anything?” Troy asked "Not yet Troy..." Gray said as she moved to search Jonas' corpse. After a minute or searching, Gray finds a holotape from their father. “Gray, we’re trying not to get caug--" Before he could finish, Gray started the tape. "Sorry Troy, this can help shed light on what's happening. " From the holotape came the voice of their beloved father . Neither knew when the next time they'd hear that voice again would be. "Hold on Jonas, I need to record this first. I don't really know how to tell you this. I hope you'll understand, but I know you might be angry. I thought about it for a long time, but in the end I decided it was best for you not to know. So many things could have gone wrong, and there's really no telling how the Overseer will react when he finds out. It's best if he can blame everything on me. Obviously, you already know that I'm gone. It was something I needed to do. You're an adult now. You're ready to be on your own. Maybe some day, things will change and we can see each other again. I can't tell you why I left or where I'm going. I don't want you to follow me. God knows life in the Vault isn't perfect, but at least you'll be safe. Just knowing that will be enough to keep me going. Don't mean to rush you, Doc, but I'd feel better if we got this over with. Okay. Go ahead. Goodbye. I love you." The recording ended and Troy, teary eyed, looked to Gray. “Gray... We can’t stay. You know as well as I do that he left. We need to go. Ready to open up our escape route?” Gray, wiping away a tear, managed to give a, "Yeah..." After opening the route, the make their way to the entrance where they're faced with the giant steel door of Vault 101, there's a control panel nearby. “Oh. I guess this’ll be what we want.” Troy said, working on the controls while Gray stood silently staring at the floor. Troy took one last look at the great door before him before pulling the lever and opening the Vault. An alarm began blaring as the steel door slowly opened, revealing a small cave with a door at the end. Light shone through the door. The sound of the security guards rushing to capture them assailed their ears. Grabbing his sister by the arm, Troy yelled, “Gray, RUN!”
