Continued Enhancement Core and Mod Component Discussion

Hey all, A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the TWAB. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.
• Originally announced in the TWAB, these bounties would cost Gunsmith materials. This has been changed to Glimmer. • There will be multiple daily bounties to complete, each rewarding one enhancement core and two mod components • There will be two weekly bounties to complete. These will each grant one enhancement core, one mod (Weapon or Armor), and other materials or reputation/rank points depending on the objective of the bounty. • Note: When I say rank points, think Valor or Infamy, **not** Glory.
The team is continuing to evaluate feedback over mod components, enhancement cores, and rewards all up. Thank you for the continued feedback. We'll give you updates as we have them.

 • Yeah, no, thanks. That isn't going to improve anything. More than likely, it'll end up just highlighting more issues with your team's concept of "endgame" progression, especially when powerful drops still only seem to consider what your overall power is, not what you have equipped, or even in your inventory. By the time I get to max, the next season is out and the max is pushed again. Doesn't really give many the opportunity to actually improve their gear and make fun set-ups if they only have so much time and prefer to actually play what is ACTUALLY FUN. Checklist bounties are chores, not content, Bungie. Given it's been, what, 4+ years, one would think your team would realize that. Having to choose between one of many different aspects that are held back because of cores is not my idea of fun, nor "meaningful"(as you guys like to insist) progression. Max power, masterworks, a varied arsenal, aesthetics, etc., the core mechanic simply delivers a thorough smack to the face of anyone who cares about two or more of those aspects, and either forces players to forgo the things they actually want to accomplish, or forces them to spend an absurd amount of time doing generic checklists in order to reach what actually makes the game fun. Ultimatums and more layers of restrictions and forced mechanics are not fun. It's really not hard to realize that, nor is it hard to simply admit that you WANT players to waste their time. At least be honest, and not hide behind nonsense like "meaningful" whatever.
