Actually I can. I can’t infuse the early exotics or any of the gear I do like because of the core requirement. It limited my choices as I tried to progress through the game. It made it a less enjoyable experience. It’s too much.
What I can’t talk about is master-working any weapons. I have no experience with those, no idea why I would want to move up different tier levels, or how it would change my experience. Didn’t hit max light so never had an opportunity to consider it.
In D1 we had to use exotic shards to infuse exotics. Enhancement cores seem to be the equivalent of exotic shards, except the requirement has been extended to legendary weapons as well. It shouldn’t be that way. We also had glass needles in D1 to re-roll stats and perks of exotic armor. Cores seem to fill that role as well.
The requirement for enhancement cores weakens the overall pool of gear. It’s a special requirement, but applying it to everything means nothing is special.
But then nothing is special because of weak perks and stats on everything. D2 is just a watered-down version of D1. Even after the “go fast” update, everything still feels just a little off. Movement is still not as smooth, time to kill is still just a little bit too long, and supers don’t feel right.
Enhancement cores should be required only for exotic gear and masterworking gear. And then those should have stronger ttk, enhanced movement, stronger and faster charging grenades and supers as a result of better perks.
It should be something that gives you something special, not just regular gear.
