Why is it, that guardians will run last wish 100 times to get 1000 voices or run tree of probabilities 100 times to get DFA, but won't spend 20 mins to get cores. Seems kinda strange to me.

What about the time we invested in Y1 items that are no longer viable? Why should you and a handful of others have your time respected and not the rest of us? The best come back you can muster is "play the game" I have 40 cores and know all about going from none to that number and you what? Not a single infusion felt meaningful.

Do you think endgame content and cores are equal? The way you put your question presumes they are. But, that would be little silly, since cores provide no source of entertainment whatsoever, right? I mean to say, I’ve never melted a boss, or any adversary, with any core. So, I’d say your question answers itself.

However, even the core of your statement (pun intended) is flawed, because grinding for loot is something pleasant while grinding for a scarce material that adds absolutely nothing to the experience is a chore.

Loot grinds are fine. Making people have to grind a very rare currency just to continue to keep powers they’ve already earned from the game ISNT. Just that simple.

Because raid weapons and exotics are the actual true endgame, grinding for them and getting god rolls is meaningful and impactful. Grinding for a rare currency to enable an expensive basic progression mechanic is neither of those.

It's too much work to find decent raid groups. I dont have time for it so it should be given to me. I want 1000 voices and threat level, I dont have time to do the raids so it should be given to me for free.

And masterwork cores are useful tool to upgrade weapons. No different that motes of light or legendary Mark's.

No they arent'. Motes of light and legendary marks were both materials that are/were generated to the player as the result of NORMAL game play. Also both materials were freely farmable. So the more you played, the more you earned. Cores are an artifiically created "grind" that serves no purpose but to extend play without acutally rewarding the player. They dont' drop from normal play. They either have to be bought.....earned by grinding some of the most tedious parts of the game...... ...and they are effectively capped. Either directly (Spider bounties).....with brutal feedback mechanics designed to deplete you resources (buying them from Spider).....or hiding them behind multiple layers of randomness (Scrapper bounties, Matterweave, dismantling Level 4 or higher gear). The difference is that the former is a tranparent investment process. The other is set up to act like a game of chance, where the player wagers their time and effort, and then has to HOPE the game spits out something that will actually progress their character. This is mobile game-level shit.

Not to mention you can't do anything with one core you need multiple cores. However you can do stuff with One weapon.

I can play one strike...and walk away with 2, 3 or even 4 legendary drops.....which can dismantle into upto 12 Legendary shards. Plus thousands of Glimmer. While that same strike will give me ONE core from a Scrapper bounty.

Motes dropped from [b]EVERY [/b] activity you did in D1, even dismantling. They were a consistent resource, fully dependent upon time played. You could swap any other resource for them directly too, by seeing the Speaker. Enhancement Chores are not at all like Motes of Light. If they were there would be few if any complaints about them. Stop defending a broken economy by comparing it to something that actually worked.
