Why is it, that guardians will run last wish 100 times to get 1000 voices or run tree of probabilities 100 times to get DFA, but won't spend 20 mins to get cores. Seems kinda strange to me.

  • You’re right. They should be just as upset with 2% drop rates as they are with purposefully suppressed progression.

  • What's DFA?

Seems kinda strange to me.
Because there isn’t anyway to get an amount of cores to = a good gun in 20 minutes. That’s a false equivalency. You can’t even get a good amount of cores in 20 minutes. The problem is the system. It’s been proven over and over. If they don’t change it they deserve the criticism they receive.

  • Because that's actual loot worth chasing. Cores are not loot, nor are they worth chasing to perform a basic practice of the game. Cores are there to disguise the shallow loot pool. I have over 200 cores, and still think cores should be removed from infusion. In the mean time, will I stop playing because of their involvement in infusion? No, I'll deal with them as long as I have to, which will likely be until the end of this game's life cycle.

  • Why is it, that a player can get 1000 voices on their first run.... While others can't even after 50?

  • Okay the reason behind that is 1kv is an exotic that does massive damage. Dfa was a very decent hand cannon back in year one of d2. Cores are a material I shouldn't have to go do this activity for half an hour to get 1 core. Again 1 core. Now if it was 2-3 cores a bounty different story.

  • So you want three cores in a half an hour? That's good because you could do three bounties on a half an hour or less.

Lol! Were you trying to sound cool when making this comment? Even Bungie has "acknowledged" that cores seem to be an issue for a huge majority of this community.... But yet there are still people that think this isn't an issue?? Its really comical at this point. It's been explained on SO MANY DIFFERENT THREADS that "infusion" with these cores is the issue. If cores themselves were to be grinded for say...."mastwrworking only", I could relate to what you are saying. And who wouldn't a cool weapon to grind for other than a "core"? Opinions vary...I get that. But stop ignoring the obvious please. Dude.....stooopppppp......

  • Idk I have 2000 shards and 170 cores plenty of masterworked weapons lol I don't understand why its so difficult for some people to maintain cores

  • Easy, people will grind for gear because it's worth having. I happily grind for gear that I want. But having to grind for a purposefully rare currency to keep their gear current is boring, time padding nonsense. You can't compare coveted gear to a currency.

different people. i dont like cores in infusion. i havent done a raid since sos. i dont have enough time. not to mention the difference between what somebody wants to be doing and what bungie decides we need to be doing.

  • Well, that's pretty easy actually. One grind rewards the player with a unique and powerful weapon that not many others have while the other one just gives you permission to continue using the things you already own.

Also, on top of planetary mats, glimmer, parts, and legendary shards, (almost all of which occur naturally when playing the game) is just a grind on top of a grind. It’s not playing the game at all. And it takes away from other stuff I’d rather do. Like farm for gear I like. That said, I think the reason they won’t stop cores JUST to infuse stuff you’ve already worked towards is because that’s become the endgame. Their really isn’t much else to do than chase the numbers if you get your “god rolls”. 👻

  • Hard to argue with that, i suppose. I guess with the items you feel like you actually get something. I will say that since it takes so many cores to do that the masterwork armor should be a lot better than it is, it would be more meaningful and impactful.

Master working armor is pointless. Oh well you get a 1 or 2 point buff big deal. Why bother.

  • Because one activity is trying to get an actual cool weapon and that's fun, the other is a bullshit grind for essentially upkeep costs to keep using what we like and -blam!- that.
