(Hi, first off I want to let you know I appreciate the hard work it takes to balance and maintain a MMO economy, and i appreciate all the hard work of the Devs. I know a lot of passionate people here are going to be less polite, but the majority of players do know you work hard, but just don't necessarily say it.)
Having possibly three guaranteed cores a day if each bounty is completed is a step in the right direction, however the One you get for a weekly bounty is a bit low. a bundle of no less than five should be the reward for the weekly bounty.
I understand that the genie is out of the bottle and enhancement cores are not going to go away, but i think Passive ways of earning them, that do not include random drops would be preferred. for example, you could earn one or more at a time by:
leveling up
every time you earn a powerful engram by a daily or weekly challenge
when you earn a clan bounty
complete a raid
complete Icora's weekly challenge.
Taking time to go to the tower to fill up on bounties to do is becoming a bit tedios and starting to stretch enjoyment of the game as it becomes more os a checklist of things to do.
i can see the intention of the cores was to make sure that a masterwoked item or even a set as something thats rare and special, but it takes so long to get them for the adverige player that by the time they have enough to upgrade one or two characters to max light with all their preferred weapons and armour, the next power cap comes around and all the players work is made useless. Its made leveling up no longer exiting, but a stresful exercise.
Not to mention that its fantastic that there is so much good loot now, meaning you can have different sets for PvP, PvE and Gambit, the lack of cores makes it impossible to keep all that to a good level, let alone masterworked.
At the end of the day the cores just make the game feel un-fun and a anxios element of the game. the same way when shaders where one use only. I cant tell you how much more i enjoy playing with looks and shaders now i can re buy them from my collections tab.
I hope these notes where useful but the tldr is that the cores grind a sense or ownership and fun to a halt, and if they aren't going to go away they should drop reliably every time you pick up and play rather than turn up every so often from an esoteric sauce.
cheers
