My question is this. No disrespect intended. If the solution to the core issue is to increase the amount available until this isn't an issue, why not just remove them? At the end of this all, it will end at the same place. Either there will be so many cores that they aren't meaningful ( not that I agree that it's meaningful anyway lol) or they will be removed as the whole infusion system will need replacing. So why not just remove them from infusion, and move them back to being solely used for masterworking?

They are NOT increasing the amount. Scrapperbounties are limitless. Bansheebounties are limited. So they are not increasing the amount you can get, but they are limiting the amount! Now you are just shure that you can get them by paying for something that used to be free. So it's not increasing the amount. It's decreasing the amount. They are just selling it to you like it's an increase. IT'S NOT!

Bungie seem to be hoping that the amount of cores will increase ( otherwise, what's the point of this?) so my point was. ...... if in bungie's opinion this is an increase, why not just remove?

I give you that. But selling them doesn't increase the amount you get. They now exactly what the are doing with this and that this doesn't increase the amount you get. It's a smokescreen bro! They're selling it like an increase while it's not. And they f'ing know it! Don't be naieve. Giving with one hand while taking away with the other. They are trying to act like the problem is solved with this, but the know it's not. Still the same system. Bungies point with this is trying to avoid the real issue because they don't wanna make the real change the community has been asking for. We've been asking them to remove them from infusion. Not giving them a different name. Ore changing the way we get the mindnumbing lame a$$ bounties. It's a smokescreen avoiding the real isseu. Nothing more. They are inflating playertime with this b.s. making players die things they don't wanna do. People don't enjoy having to run the same damn lost sector again just to be able to infuse something. It's a chore, not real playtime. No matter were you get the chore. It's still a chore.

I just framed that point with the question. I see no positive to cores, never have and would be happy to see them gone. Not entirely sure how framing my argument as a question makes me naive though......

  • Because the truth is there’s no well reasoned mechanical reason to have a single currency be the focal currency of two disparate progression systems (Infusion and Masterworking). I think there’s no way around the reality that Bungie simply has been lying to players, and cores were added to the infusion economy purely to slow progression down and try to inflate player play time. Despite the massive outpouring of negative feedback and people actively telling them it caused them to stop playing or not bother coming back to the game, they must still believe it’s doing enough to inflate play hours to not want to give it up without some other scheme in place to keep players grinding away. I think their reaction to the situation is deeply short-sighted, as was the move in the first place, and they’ve spent 7 months bleeding away consumer patience, loyalty, and respect because of it. They’re screwed long term now, and I don’t think they can pull out of this death spiral.

  • Because removing them just means they are accepting responsibility of making a huge mistake. And they aren't going to do that.

I understand that as a case of pride, and I also understand that it is setting a precedent lol ( a very minor form of "we don't negotiate with terrorists" lol) but surely at this point it would help, if even just as a goodwill statement, to prove once and for all that "bungie do listen". Ah well, for some reason I keep trying to really like this franchise lol, such a shame that things make it so difficult to lol
