I've seen both sides of the argument, and understand their points, but I'm going to give my take:
Enhancement cores are easy enough to get that they don't have any [i]real[/i] reason to be removed, but maybe the cost of infusion could be lowered by one core - making legendaries only one core to infuse and exotics only two.
The real enemy of infusion is... glimmer.
Friggen glimmer. It costs 5000 for one legendary infusion! I'm always broke, man. I have a bajillion planetary materials, so I can just buy some from spider.

Thanks for this. The costs are terrible for the actual return in performance most times. The masterwork system originally in year one was decent. Flat rate and it either was or wasn’t masterwork. These steps with no gain are just unnecessary. The funny thing is that they posted that “meaningful” bs and then take everyone who didn’t cheat. The very next login I had was a 7 or so page terms of service promising I wouldn’t join any class action lawsuits and that they can change whatever they want whenever they want including a full shut down of the service. Seems like they are about to clean house at bungie.
