Completely different. Etheric light took your weapons/armor to MAX light with ONE infusion.
Ex. I stopped playing when I was 663. If I had Etheric light, I could make my Ikeleos shotgun 700 with one infusion.
That's a lot easier to swallow than having to burn 2-3 cores everytime you climb 5 points in power for that weapon/armor slot.
