I can't believe this is still in the game. 😂🤣 This company is beyond deaf. You can fix this issue by removing cores and requiring just using a weapon or armor piece (kills for weapons, earned XP while wearing armor) to masterwork an item. Hell, you could even keep the tiers for armor by doing this. It would reward playtime without forcing players to do activities they don't want to do. WIN-WIN. 🤔
