I can't believe this is still in the game. 😂🤣
This company is beyond deaf.
You can fix this issue by removing cores and requiring just using a weapon or armor piece (kills for weapons, earned XP while wearing armor) to masterwork an item.
Hell, you could even keep the tiers for armor by doing this. It would reward playtime without forcing players to do activities they don't want to do. WIN-WIN. 🤔

Exactly this, the XP grind could be hella long for all I care, and enhancement cores could take the place motes of light had in D1 by using them to quickly level your gear.

Or leave cores as an option to masterwork, but also allow kills/XP as an alternate pathway. Both of them encourage lots of play time. Win win.
Or leave cores as an option to masterwork, but also allow kills/XP as an alternate pathway. Both of them encourage lots of play time. Win win.
I like this idea - makes sense. So while you’re playing you’re progressing the gear you want. Additionally, we’re called at 100k glimmer so you can’t purchase the infusion materials you need without grinding anyway.

"I dont have time to grind out all this xp for the weapons and armor this is too much just to upgrade weapons." No matter what bungie does nobody will be happy regardless so I'll deal with cores which are pretty abundant if you play the game.

I'm beginning to take the same stand as you. With the addition of muktuple daily bojnties awarding cores, we can effectively just farm them now through gameplay. This increases their abundance and still keeps Bungie's "impactful" painpoint (though I don't agree with it). All in all I see the inclusion of these bounties as a big plus if they don't want to remove them. Sure the resource economy seems a bit arbitrary, but at this point we will have reliable sources for cores and I can see the cohesion of it all. The griping will eventually have to stop.
