Continued Enhancement Core and Mod Component Discussion
Hey all,
A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/47706]TWAB[/url]. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.

4 RepliesI was thinking last night how fully masterworked gear doesn’t drop enough outside of curated rolls. What if we had a masterwork legendary engram, not a powerful drop, just counts as a legendary drop that drops a random fully masterworked armor piece or weapon. Don’t like the weapon or armor piece? It’s still 7 masterwork cores easy.

Also on a side note can we get a more direct way to get ada's mods. im tired of only getting surrounded spec and sprint grip when I want rampage and dragon fly. maybe we could trade obsidian accelerators.

Nothing bungie does will ever “be enough” and the community proved this way back in D1 Y2. 10 RepliesEnhancement Cores are fine as they are. Just don't infuse 8 things at once every 1-5 power. It makes no difference. I got to 700 just fine and only infuse every 20-30 levels

1 ReplyI’m trying to grind out for things like catalysts and titles, not getting cores for my gear that I use and even reserves for next season. That’s why wanted bounties didn’t hit with the community like they could have. I enjoyed the lost sector missions, but hvt camping is a waste of time.

1 ReplyOne weekly bounty should be to gather 15 legendary drops and reward 7 enhancement cores while the other should be to gather 100 weapon parts and reward a higher amount of planetary materials and mod components than the first weekly bounty. First weekly bounty rewards 7 enhancement cores 2 mod components 25 planetary materials Second weekly bounty rewards 8 mod components 1 enhancement core 50 planetary materials Bump to make this noticed.

It’s fairly obvious that a majority of the community wants enhancement cores removed from infusion. It’s also quite clear that you guys don’t want to remove enhancement cores from infusion. So why not meet in the middle here. Currently we are able to infuse the same piece of gear into itself for only glimmer. Also, it’s possible to infuse a higher rarity piece of gear (ex. Exotic) into a lower rarity piece of gear (ex. Legendary) for a lower cost of just shards and glimmer. Then there is the normal infusion cost for same rarity gear into a different piece of gear. Which would be glimmer, shards, cores, and planetary mats. My suggestion is to add another “tier” of infusion. When infusing the same type of gear into another piece, it will cost glimmer, shards, and planetary mats. The description is poor, but I’ll give an example. You have a better devils you want to infuse up. You could infuse it up for just glimmer with another better devils. You could infuse it up for glimmer and shards with any kinetic exotic. You could infuse it up for glimmer, shards, and planetary mats with any other legendary kinetic hand cannon (my new suggested “tier”) You could infuse it up for glimmer, shards, cores, and planetary mats with any other legendary kinetic weapon. I would translate it to armor by making it need to be the same type of armor (mobile, restorative, heavy). With this system, it would allow players to feel like they aren’t as restricted with infusing up their favorite gear. It still makes you have to decide if you want to spend more to infuse up sooner, but it will give a few more chances to infuse up their favorite weapons and not feel handicapped without them. Now before anyone starts saying things, yes I know the best way to deal with infusion costs is to wait until your max level, then infusing up you favorite gear. No, I’m not whining/complaining that things are too hard. All I’m doing is trying to find a compromise between bungie and the people who hate the infusion costs. Personally, I don’t care about the cost of infusion. I’ve always been able to manage it.

I don’t mind the cores. I have trained myself to conserve materials so well that when I try to use them I can’t find the need.

1 Reply@dmg04 Exactly how much feedback do you need for Bungie to give up the enhacement core idea? 10,000 signatures? 20,000? Or does someone just not want to admit failure. It's a trainwreck and we cant blame Activision anymore either. Go back to the drawing board.

2 RepliesWhy would I spend effort and time into a weekly bounty If it only rewards me something I can do in 12 minutes with a daily bounty? Mod components are a meh reward. And a single enhancement core isn’t really that good either. At least 2. Valor and infamy points aren’t even worth the time either because you can get that much in 2 games. Weekly bounties sound very lack luster. If I have to wait a week for a single enhancement core,2 mod components and 100 points for crucible then it’s not even worth picking up.

FFS Its beyond a joke that Bungie continue to think that enhancement cores + infusion is a good idea. I guess what happens at Dev discussion is that some high level bozo came up with the idea so everyone else has to go along with it even though they see the nonsense that it is It reminds me of the UK “Go Compare” adverts of recent years, the public absolutely detested the adverts, the companies sales dropped due to it, but the creator was like the CEO’s son and so they refused to ditch the frikkin annoying sales dropping sh#t adverts with the fat air wasting singer Argh
