An hour of play (albeit boring) yesterday earned me 60 enhancement cores.
On top of that I earned 1400 gunsmith mats, 40 mod components and 4 exotics.
Even if you have an issue with cores, you shouldn't whatsoever with Legendary Shards. Look into buying Simulation Seeds from Spider for Shards. Look into Brother Vance and his reputation packages.

That is not an hour of play. You spent an hour turning in materials you earned over hours upon hours of playing. No matter how you spin it.

I'm sorry, it is not. Neither is fish :^(

2500 took me 80 minutes. My characters' inventory was completely empty so nothing got sent to postmaster, I dismantled as it came. If you wanna break out a timer when you do it, go/ for it. Just keep in mind that different consoles (PS4 Regular/Pro) mean different speeds at which you can complete any action.

That last paragraph of my first comment is the method. If you have a large amount of legendary shards (2,000+) and are willing to potentially sacrifice up to a couple hundred, (last time I did this I spent 2500 and lost 350 of them - it's unfortunately a gamble where sometimes you can almost break even on what you spend and sometimes you lose out quite a bit) you can do this. Just wait for a day for Spider to sell Simulation Seeds for Legendary Shards. 1 Shard = 5 Seeds Take the seeds you buy to Brother Vance for his reputation packages. 60 Seeds = 1 Package One package generally gets you one of two potential drop combinations: 6 Shards 1 Legendary (Masterwork Potential) 1 Shader (Always Legendary, Recycles into 1 Shard) OR 1 Shard 2 Legendaries (Masterwork Potential for BOTH) 1 Shader (Same thing, always Legendary) You can also get legendary sparrows, ghost shells, and Exotics as supplementary drops. Doing the quick math, getting the one Legendary drop package gets more Shards back if you recycle all your shaders and dismantle all Legendary drops. However, that also means you get less Legendaries overall. Which means less Masterwork potentials.. so less cores.

I’ll need to try this, thanks.
An hour of play (albeit boring) yesterday earned me 60 enhancement cores.
So, it doesn't matter if you collected 5000 cores, it's still not going to fix the major issue in this entire game on why they added the cores when they first changed the infusion system, and that was them being lazy not adding an actual loot to the loot pool being fully aware that this is supposed to be a loot based game.
On top of that I earned 1400 gunsmith mats, 40 mod components and 4 exotics.
Again, so, especially knowing most of the mods in this game are set to limit how gamers play this game. Every single mod in this game is assigned to specific items and knowing there isn't much to use them on? you can literally have 20 mods on a character and if none of them work on an item you want to use them on, they just instantly became totally useless. A game like this is not supposed to be designed to control how gamers play. It's supposed to be designed to allow gamers to have the freedom to play how they want to play and customize their characters how they want to.
Even if you have an issue with cores, you shouldn't whatsoever with Legendary Shards. Look into buying Simulation Seeds from Spider for Shards. They told you why it’s in the game, to create inherent scarcity. Just about every persistent world game uses them in some form.
They told you why it’s in the game, to create inherent scarcity. Just about every persistent world game uses them in some form.
Now let's look at the truth of what they were originally created for, to masterwork an item. The infusion system wasn't broken. They changed the name and the purpose of what they were created for and used them to drag out what little loot they added to this game. Later on, they slowly added more ways to collect them which still has done nothing for this game since it's a broken currency for a loot based game.
