My guess is that the hardcore are probably all people who regularly play with the same people therefore always have a team for crucible, gambit and raids. This is discouraging for the “less hardcore” group out there to try and enjoy these modes. Ultimately I think it drives them away from the game. Couple that with a steep infusion system that makes experimentation costly as well as limiting to other activities and the results are less and less of a player pool. I don’t know if m considered hardcore or not. I try to play all the activities and I have loads of hours in both games. I run all three class of characters and managed to get them to 650 before this dlc. Even I finally got burnt out and my friends considered me an addict. I’ve done all the raids but the last one but I didn’t enjoy them. I always felt like I was invited to a group of friends game and I was just a guest there walking on eggshells as to not upset anyone and get kicked. As an adult it’s kind of embarrassing to have those feelings again that I would have thought I left in my childhood. Sorry for the tangent but I think the bottom line is accessibility is important and catering to the hardcore or even just the casual group is alienating and drives a portion of the player base away.
