The difference is that it has been very much alive till D2, then it got some life back in Forsaken and we had hope, then Bungie dashed that too. Whether it be because Activision out pressure on them to work faster, etc or whatever the deal was, September is gonna be it. Nobody should be surprised that this expansion isn't great, last one wasn't, why would this one be? They've both been ready for a while anyway and no changes are made before release. Next season is probably gonna be a dud too except for the lore (for those who still care) but even then, no guarantees
