Maybe some people work in a high pressure, timed environment and simply don’t want their recreational time filled with the same pressure.

I’ve just always felt timers are a bad mechanic in most games, they seem to take the fun out of it, at least for me.

I understand how many people view them, personally they don't bother me (unless I'm beaten by it!). I get it though, believe me I do.
