Humanity.
It's a small word, but such a large one in scope and meaning.
What does it mean to be human? Is it the inquisitive nature of an intelligent being? Or the physical superiority to the beasts and birds who fill our bellies?
The answer, my friend, is none of these.
Man is cruel, man slaughters, man steals, man wages a never ending war on his own soul, always running away from himself.
What made humanity what it is today is pride. But the part of him that remains, what made humanity rise from the tribal prison, was charity. Charity for the neighbor in life, for one's own kin, even the alien creature that grazed the field. That is what made us human; and we've lost it so many times.
In the year 2575, humanity lost itself for the last time.
In those days the people of earth had spread across the stars, planting their flag on every barren or fruitful rock they could find.
In those days the humans found intelligent life, life with the spark of charity. So we snuffed it out.
It should never have been such a surprise, but there were always a bigger fish.
The Olorans had risen to the March of civilization hundreds of years prior to humanity; and, subsequently, there was nothing we could do to stop them.
The year is now 2613. The Last War is over, we have lost, Earth is gone...Our home is gone.
Those that have survived are lost wanderers, living in broken down ships once used for warfare.
These Capitols hold the last remnants of human civilization, and they hold you.
You are a descendant of a fallen species. You are the last hope that humanity has not truly damned itself for oblivion. You seek the stars, the future, and a way off this prison of a home.
But most importantly, you are only human.

Welcome aboard the Capitol of Troy.
As you can see, assuming you do in fact have eyes, I am going to be writing a Space Opera for Off-topic. I've seen many great, legendary and we'll written stories on here, but except for the new star wars one, there hasn't been a fresh space one so far as I know. So therefore, to remedy this ailment, I am beginning the series "Dark Horse".
I have 6 spots open for the beginning characters. The six will be divided amongst two separate starship crews, each with a captain. I want to have "player" choice interspersed throughout the stories. Including whether or not the two crews are friends or foes...
Please sign up if you're interested. Please dscribe your character's appearance (clothes, gender, etc), personality and quirks.
