LfD - Prison of Elders

Welcome to the comprehensive guide know as Lore for Dummies! In this tag, we go into the Destiny universe and “translate” it, for people willing to dive in. Let’s get into it, shall we? In this one, we will be covering the Prison of Elders... yesss? We will cover the wardens, some significant, former residents of the Prison, it’s relation with the Nine, and it’s current state. Backstory So, the Prison of Elders is a, well, prison of enemies known far and wide throughout the solar system, while also containing fodder like Goblins or Dregs, if they can be contained. The Prison was ran by Variks, with the help of Petra. Cayde-6 would be a huge help in the capture of many famed enemies within the Prison. Variks (as a fancy way of execution) would set up Challenge of the Elders for Guardians, in order to slay the imprisoned enemies. Residents Namely prisoners, many (as previously mentioned) are pretty bad guys, when it comes down to it. Here are a couple previously significant figures, until we walked into the arena: Sylok, the Defiled: We all saw this one coming. Most commonly remembered because of how... aggressive Variks got about saying his name, this boy has a backstory of being tortured and experimented on, and also Taken. Why a Taken willingly stays in the Prison, we may never know. Keksis, the Betrayed:Getting another memelord out of the way, this Taken Captain was blinded and betrayed by his mates, Taken, and is in prison. What a life. Skolas, Kell of Kells: A pretty significant figure in the modern Fallen universe, this previous Dreg was responsible for freeing the House of Wolves, and uniting Fallen banners together, to rise up as a great faction. He was then thrown in Prison a second time, where he met his fate through us. The Barons: Our common enemy in Forsaken, much has already been revealed about their past. Starved Dregs who worked together, later thrown in Prison, in the deepest cells. Prince Uldren: The bastard himself was kept here. There are plenty more that I for sure missed, however those were the ones that came to mind. Feel free to comment below your picks. The Nine Not a huge entry in this LfD as we still know jack about them, but Queen Mara Sov and the Nine liked to trade prisoners a lot. The Nine would give her “gifts”, and Mara would give them “gifts”. What kind she gave them, I do not know. Currently... If you have played through the campaign of Forsaken, you already know the state it’s in. Prisoners escaped everywhere, a dead Exo, a missing Warden, and a crazy Servitor who insists on running more Challenges of the Elders. What you may not know is that Variks, the Warden, is still alive and kicking, and trying to become a Kell. That’s why there was a prison outbreak, as Variks triggered a “distraction” to get away with some loyal Fallen. And maybe another female Guardian... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Anyways, that’s it. Hope you all enjoyed. Life has given me a break for now, so I figured I would pump this one out so I didn’t have any promises left to fulfill on these forums. I’ll try to keep them coming out, but they will be much more delayed. Remember, the LfD tag is open for everyone. I apologize for the lack of humor, which is normal with this series.
