Four billion years from now, the increase in the Earth's surface temperature from the expansion of the sun will cause a runaway greenhouse effect, heating the surface enough to melt it. By that point, all life on the Earth will be extinct. The most probable fate of the planet is its absorption by the Sun in about 7.5 billion years, after the star has entered the red giant phase and expanded beyond the planet's current orbit. Everything we’ve ever said or done will be rendered completely meaningless by the relentless onslaught of entropy as the universe continues it’s slow march towards inevitable heat death. Of course there is good in the world still. It just gets drowned out by all the voices shouting about the bad. Not that we should ignore the bad, just learn to elevate the good to the level it deserves, which is way above the bad.
