I'm waiting for a mod to move this post you created. It will most likely be moved because Bungie doesn't want the new gamers seeing the truth on how bad just this alone is in this game. What annoys me is when gamers come on threads like this and "try" to discredit it by saying... Edit: "this never happens to me, stop your complaining", blah blah blah. I'm referring to gamers that try to shut post down like this. This also makes me wonder how many of them are streamers that get away with things like "the worlds first" raid completion nonsense. You know, because cheating is encouraged and you can become a WINNER!

Yeah. I am shocked it hasn’t been moved yet. A lot of people may not experience it, but the more competitive level you play at, the more likely you will run into this.

  • You mean like Trails with the paid carries. It's interesting what someone said a few replies below how it took 4 years for Bungie to ban a certain person. IMO, things like that with this company happens more often than not. I'm not saying that Bungie can get everyone but for anyone to say this doesn't happen and come up with this cop-out saying, "prove it" is actually quite dumb knowing it has been proven over the years with video proof. Hell, you can tell by wins and losses in Trails, right? well at least to an extent from what I know of.

  • You know, based on Bungie’s past history wrt these world’s first teams, and perceived (whether real or not) apathy towards performing any concrete punishment on clearly provable cheating, it is completely fair to point a very critical finger at Bungie on this issue. Coil glitching got mad props from Bungie Prime engram glitching got mad props from Bungie. These teams were awarded in-game items and their gameplay was promoted by Bungie. Including all direct knowledge of their glitching. Inactivity, on Bungie’s part, IS the one of strongest actions that can be made by any organization.

It's funny how DMG came out real quick making a post right before the raid was released, saying how there wasn't going to be any form of punishment for glitching the raid. Yeah, can't scare off our free advertisement now can we ;) Edit: If none of the streamers knew about the glitch and it was just a normal group that ran the glitch and won worlds first? I can almost guarantee things would have been handled quite differently.

  • It’s my belief also. It IS a fine line though. What constitutes cheating, what constitutes mechanics manipulation, speed running public instances, boss burning to the point of completely ignoring the design of an instance? etc... These are great philosophical debates and I would hope/expect to see differences of opinions that are backed by completely legit logic. But, we’re not talking about that right now. We’re talking about unambiguously provable cheaters. Leviathan world first stream was unambiguous. “That’s my purple brick, I’m coil glitching”. imho, it’s debatable if that’s actually “cheating”. But, combine that with the lack of, or perception of lack of, ANY severe punishments handed out AND publicized by Bungie wrt proven cheaters, it paints a horrible overall view of the company. It’s simple, from my point of view. Bungie needs to come down HARD on cheaters and publicize it. Send a message to the entire community that cheating won’t be tolerated, in any way, shape or form. Do I think they have the nutsack to do this? No!

I took it as the company saying one thing but their actions showing another. Being consistent is a huge issue with this company and has been since D1 released. Imho I don't think this company knows how to knowing the issues they have within the company with themselves. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians.

  • If you watch streamers often enough its obvious dos attacks do happen , and the streamers know who the people are .

  • let me get this right...you believe this guy's anecdotal evidence but you wouldn't believe my anecdotal evidence just because it goes against your predilections about the game? I have never experienced this type of ddos attack and it's true. i'm not defending bungie or anything of the sort. but i've never had this happen and none of my friends have ever told me about this happening to them... how am i wrong?

I think you miss read what I was saying, but I also could have expressed it a little better. I'm not saying that it happens to everyone. What I'm saying is that it happen more often than some would care to admit. As far as my comment goes to when gamers say it never happens to them. It's usually the ones that just like to talk nonsense that I'm referring to just to try to shut a post down.

  • Yeah, most of my clanmates that I put time in with are hardcore pvp’ers, competitive exclusively. And few play anymore. They LOVE the changes made to gameplay inside pvp. But, Absolutely despise the complete lack of maintenance wrt the environment. I’ll agree, it’s my belief, these aren’t isolated occurrences.

  • That's fine. But in my experience I can't really tell you if I've even encountered a cheater. Remember that most PVP problems are caused by the P2P connections not due to cheating. But if you can find solid evidence other than anecdotal evidence then your assumptions would have any validity. Otherwise they're just individual gripes about unique circumstances that don't affect the majority of the population

  • Just because it didn't happen to you, doesn't mean its not happening. There are videos out there that show cheaters in action.

  • No offense, ego, but the chance of it happening go up when you play in the higher tiers of competitive. That is because cheating is one of the few ways to gain an edge at the top.

  • Ego, these reports online, both here and in the /r’s are fairly common. I know, here specifically, if a poster is making stuff up about cheating, actually about anything lol, this community will eviscerate them. I’ve seen more than enough gamer tags that have been reported here, BEFORE being redacted by their OP’s or moderators, to know and see that these clearly cheating gamers continue on for extended periods of time. Now, in a population of 12.2 million, is it significant? No, probably not. But we don’t really, truly know the true population data wrt each individual activity. It’s not unthinkable to believe that each activity inside a competitive playlist IS demonstrably small enough to be significantly impacted by just the numbers reported here. My clanmates don’t play anymore, not bc of gameplay bc they enjoy the changes made there. But, we were even laughed at through ps messaging immediately before 3 of our mates lost connxn in an Iron Banner match. Iron. Banner. Ppl are cheating, even in quickplay, non competitive. Why? Perception is Bungie does little, if anything to deter it. Maybe even encouraging it instead.

  • Well where are your stats and analysis professor? The PvP side of Destiny is rife with DDOS’ing and Account recoveries. It took four years for them to ban ClayIsClufch despite having all the video evidence in the world. Wanna know why he finally got banned? BECAUSE A POPULAR CONTENT CREATOR REPORTED IT!! Let that sink in, Despite numerous reports from REGULAR players, VIDEO EVIDENCE sent in by REGULAR PLAYERS, bungie stood by for four -blam!-ing years and did nothing and ONLY when Mr.Twitch played ONE MATCH against him, he filed a report to bungie and Clay instantly got banned. So take you “it doesn’t happen to me” bullshit away. You are either A.) not intelligent enough to realise when a DDOS occurs or B.) you were dropped on your head as a child and cursed for life with the brain of a goldfish. DDOS is more frequent than my exotic drop rate. Last week I got banned from competitive BECAUSE I GOT DDOSED four times in 5 hours from some stupid little four stack at 5500 points (even though I’m only at 2200 or w.e) Analyse that Robert De Niro.
