Destiny lost an amazing Titan last night

Last night the Dawnbreakers brotherhood and Destiny lost an amazing Titan. Deriss, aka Joshua Foley, was a military vet, Titan master class boss, Dawnbreakers admin, and information guru. Deriss joined our clan during Destiny beta days on Xbox One and has been a part of our clan ever since. Even when Destiny lost its light we still journeyed as a group of friends across many other awesome worlds until Destiny brought it back. Deriss you were our clan’s pragmatic leader and resident smart guy but we enjoyed every moment of your life you were willing to share with your brothers. Deriss took his life after facing many battles both inward and outward. If you see a loved one struggling don’t let them fight the darkness alone because we don’t leave fireteam members behind. Deriss.....Josh, although Destiny brought us together you’re presence and joy helped make us a family. We love you brother. Eyes up, Guardian.

  • Thoughts are with his real world family as well as his destiny family. The beauty of this game is it creates new families worldwide. He obviously helped create a fantastic clan, his legacy will live on through you all. “It’s ok to not be ok”. I use these 3 tips from Suicide Prevention Lifeline when I’m discussing suicide and mental health in uni tutorials. Here are 3 tips for those days when you feel trapped: Try to be social: This can be very hard, especially if you don’t want others to know what is going on but it can help. This could be as simple as starting a small conversation with your friends, teachers, family, or anyone else. Use coping skills: The list of coping skills could go on for pages and they are unique to each individual. Some healthy coping strategies include journaling, coloring, playing a sport, going on a run, yoga, deep breathing, and so many more. Once you find a few or maybe even just one it can help tremendously. Let yourself feel: When a low day hits that doesn’t mean you have to shut out what you are truly feeling inside. While this may be uncomfortable at times, acknowledging your feelings can help you move through them. And the best thing about these 3 things is that they apply to each and every one of us guardians.
