Problems for Solo Players

Sooo...yea, title says it all. Where I currently live, the only internet providers we have are all Satellite providers....which means playing in a server with actual players is next to impossible. Every time I load into Destiny, I am put in a server by myself. No randoms running around, no people waiting around at the Tower, no one but me, the NPCs/Vendors and the AI enemies. In fact, the only way I can play with or even see other players is if one of the few friends I have that play Destiny 2 are online and invite me into their fireteam. Which, the times for getting online when my few friends are on and playing Destiny is also few and far between given my current work schedule. Naturally, this brings up a lot of issues. Mainly...the vast majority of content, events, and general challenges and tasks that reward you with the better loot is all done with other players. As it stands, I have 5 Exotic Weapon Quests that I can't even complete/do because they require me to do things that take more than one person (i.e. Complete the Leviathan Raid for the Destroyer of Worlds, the Rat King's Crew quest line, Cayde's Will for the Ace of Spades who's first task is needed to be completed in Gambit, and two other quest that require me to get past lvls 3 and 10 of Escalation Protocols.) For a solo player, this are next to, if not, 100% impossible for me to complete. Needless to say, the Exotic Weapon Quests aren't even the tip of the ice burg when it comes to things I can't do alone. I can't do the Raids that means I can't finish the Foresaken stuff because I can't do the Dreaming City Raid. I can't even finish unlocking all the extra abilities on my sub-classes because aside from only getting one Seed of Light per character from a mission, you have to get the others apparently from doing the Raid and the Blind Well. This makes fully progressing next to impossible for me because I can't even do the events and tasks need for the best gear. So, are there any other players that have this issue? I mean, I can already see a line of replies saying: "Destiny isn't made to be played alone." or "Just get a better internet provider." (which isn't even something I can physically do at this time) but I can't be the only person who has issues with Bungie making the vast majority of in-game content multiplayer centered.

 • Being an all-online game and requiring a persistent premium connection (low latency and zero packet loss) is the issue you are running into. Unfortunately, while satellite can supply large bandwidth, it cannot supply low latency connections, and rarely can maintain zero packet loss. If you cannot find a way to get a different type of internet provider, then this is one game that you may not be able to play. Some other titles coming out next year will also require premium connections, so Destiny is not alone in that factor - it's just the first to experiment with technology requiring it. You may be able to see other players when in a fireteam with a friend, but that is because you are relaying info through their connection. You will have lag and provide lag to any matches you are in; which is something you also need to be very careful about, since you can be restricted for poor connection quality. Too many restrictions can become a ban. If you don't mind me asking, where are you that doesn't have any option but satellite?
