I will say you guys over at Bungie are really good at ignoring the real issues inherent with this game (and the series as a whole), such as low exotic drop rates, throttled level progression, lack of content at launch, lack of content for expansions, no matchmaking (even for world activities), and your collective inability to reasonably respond to these issues (like, for example, reducing the exotic drop rate to virtually zero in order to cater to the 10 gambling addicts who want to wait five years before getting a drop). I don’t get why these are still “things.” And for the idiots, “game dev is too hard” isn’t an excuse. Wake the -blam!- up. You purchased access to a thing, only to be denied the thing through a gambling mechanism. Think about that when you say “I like the exotic drop rate because it now takes me a year to get the super duper power gun that goes boom.” Back to Bungie, the player base consistently revolts because you are either unwilling or unable to respond to player feedback in a measured and reasonable fashion. Start the base game with more base content (more raids, more explorable areas, more strikes, and a dedicated horde mode at launch), and people won’t complain as much about level progression (at least until they’re done with the content, which would take longer than a damn day to complete). We need only see The Elder Scrolls Online (and its console version) as proof that more content at launch is better. Add optional matchmaking for all activities, and let the player base deal with whatever consequences that ensue (I’m still not convinced that LFG is any better, to be honest). Finally, just tweak the -blam!-ing drop rate for exotics and things that make you more powerful and raid-ready. PEOPLE WILL LEAVE YOUR GAME YET AGAIN IF YOU MAKE THE BEST CONTENT INACCESSIBLE FOR A LONG TIME. Why is this still a thing? These are things people reiterate to you time and time and time again. We sound like broken records. Here’s some food for thought: It’s a seller’s market when it comes to the Destiny franchise. There really is no other game like it out there right now. Congratulations! I cannot speak for anyone else, but I always come back because I like playing good FPS’s and I like to play online with other people from time to time. Cool-working guns are a bonus. You’ve made a good game, at least when it comes to making a solid coop shooter with interesting weapons and mechanics (the story hurts my brain, though). What do you think will happen once another publisher makes a similar game, learning from your mistakes in the meanwhile while offering more launch content and a better in-game economy that is player-friendly? A publisher without your baggage and track record for screwing over the player base through bad micro-transactions and progression throttling? I, for one, will not be coming back to this game. I will jump ship and not look back. You may think it unlikely, but there will come a point when a viable competitor will rise and possibly surpass you by offering a better games-as-a-service coop, online experience. Bungie’s decision to ship a minimum viable product will come back to bite Bungie in the ass. Edit: I just wanted to thank all who meaningfully responded to this response. As I wrote down below, I’ve uninstalled the game. As a result, I won’t be responding to any more comments in the near future. Happy hunting, Guardians! :o)

  • I read you complaining about exotic drop rates in like the first sentence and stopped reading after that if you dont like grinding for exotics play another game go play cod you can unlock everything and everything is literally handed to you destiny has always been rng based and if you got every exotic in the first 4 weeks of the launch you wouldn't have any exotics to play for and it would be lame to get an exotic and just dismantle for shards

  • It is effort though. No one is getting lucky enough to have every new exotic by the end of this month. And if they do, they either put way too much “effort” into this game or got extremely lucky, which will be the rare experience for most.

  • [u]Bungie does not owe you anything[/u]. At least this guy uninstalled the game because of his complaints. Don't play the game if your going to become so heated, and so ANGRY. It drives me crazy to see people calling bungie "disgusting," and that they're "screwing us over." They made one of the funnest shooters I have ever played and that everyone consistently comes back to no matter how much hate they spew about it. I am not completely disregarding constructive criticism. It's actually EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to have the player base letting the developer know how they feel about their game. However, I have noticed that for many people they feel like what the want from they game is more important than bungie's vision as a developer. People need to realize they're place, and let they're money do the talking. Shut up or leave, because your spreading hatred, spite, and arrogance.

  • Exactly. Just be constructive and perhaps suggest a solution. Feedback like, “exotic drop rates are the reason players will leave this game, Bungie ~never~ listens ever, I’m deleting Destiny, etc.” that feedback would never see the light of day. Take a deep breath and eat a Snickers.

  • A year ago, we complained that the exotic drop rates were to high and that progression was to easy. We got what we wanted.

  •
A year ago, we complained that the exotic drop rates were to high and that progression was to easy. We got what we wanted.
A year ago all the exotics were garbage and 90% of the gear was garbage as well so no one cared. Couldn't say that about D1, in fact, the entire first year... Now that Bungie has kind of giving what they should have from when the game was released and could have 6 months ago, they did this to stretch out this tiny expansion and nothing less.

How so? I've been grinding every day, haven't come close to running all the content and that's only on one character. There's going to be stuff to do for months, not including seasonal content

Your, "I paid for the game" comment is bull shit. In MGS4 there were different suits that made you have really special camo or cloaking that could only be unlocked by beating the entire game under very special circumstances (no kills, lots of kills, no saves, etc.). By your logic, if you're a player who likes to just blow everything up and kill everyone on your way to completing the game, you should still be entitled to the skin that you receive for completing the game with no kills because you "paid full price, after all." No, your logic is nonsense. Please leave.
