I will say you guys over at Bungie are really good at ignoring the real issues inherent with this game (and the series as a whole), such as low exotic drop rates, throttled level progression, lack of content at launch, lack of content for expansions, no matchmaking (even for world activities), and your collective inability to reasonably respond to these issues (like, for example, reducing the exotic drop rate to virtually zero in order to cater to the 10 gambling addicts who want to wait five years before getting a drop). I don’t get why these are still “things.” And for the idiots, “game dev is too hard” isn’t an excuse. Wake the -blam!- up. You purchased access to a thing, only to be denied the thing through a gambling mechanism. Think about that when you say “I like the exotic drop rate because it now takes me a year to get the super duper power gun that goes boom.” Back to Bungie, the player base consistently revolts because you are either unwilling or unable to respond to player feedback in a measured and reasonable fashion. Start the base game with more base content (more raids, more explorable areas, more strikes, and a dedicated horde mode at launch), and people won’t complain as much about level progression (at least until they’re done with the content, which would take longer than a damn day to complete). We need only see The Elder Scrolls Online (and its console version) as proof that more content at launch is better. Add optional matchmaking for all activities, and let the player base deal with whatever consequences that ensue (I’m still not convinced that LFG is any better, to be honest). Finally, just tweak the -blam!-ing drop rate for exotics and things that make you more powerful and raid-ready. PEOPLE WILL LEAVE YOUR GAME YET AGAIN IF YOU MAKE THE BEST CONTENT INACCESSIBLE FOR A LONG TIME. Why is this still a thing? These are things people reiterate to you time and time and time again. We sound like broken records. Here’s some food for thought: It’s a seller’s market when it comes to the Destiny franchise. There really is no other game like it out there right now. Congratulations! I cannot speak for anyone else, but I always come back because I like playing good FPS’s and I like to play online with other people from time to time. Cool-working guns are a bonus. You’ve made a good game, at least when it comes to making a solid coop shooter with interesting weapons and mechanics (the story hurts my brain, though). What do you think will happen once another publisher makes a similar game, learning from your mistakes in the meanwhile while offering more launch content and a better in-game economy that is player-friendly? A publisher without your baggage and track record for screwing over the player base through bad micro-transactions and progression throttling? I, for one, will not be coming back to this game. I will jump ship and not look back. You may think it unlikely, but there will come a point when a viable competitor will rise and possibly surpass you by offering a better games-as-a-service coop, online experience. Bungie’s decision to ship a minimum viable product will come back to bite Bungie in the ass. Edit: I just wanted to thank all who meaningfully responded to this response. As I wrote down below, I’ve uninstalled the game. As a result, I won’t be responding to any more comments in the near future. Happy hunting, Guardians! :o)

  • Thank you for saying this while I haven't gotten one exotic, doesn't mean I'm going to stop looking. Not to mention search for ideal rolls for weapons.

  • Not at least until they give it to you through RNG. You people really are stupid if you think that you “earn” a randomly generated reward. Fortunately, there are plenty of people here who agree that grinding is good, but waiting for an unreasonable amount of time for a meaningful reward is, well, unreasonable. I’ve tried to reply to people’s posts because I enjoy having a dialogue with people and I do like to respond when someone takes the time to respond to my comments, but this is like talking to a piece of styrofoam. I keep forgetting that people will zealously defend something for no valid reason simply because they self-identify with it. I’ll try it one last time and then I won’t be responding to anyone anymore (slowly, as if to a two-year-old): THE ISSUE IS NOT THE GRIND. THE ISSUE IS NOT ENTITLEMENT. THE ISSUE IS WHETHER BUNGIE HAS IMPLEMENTED A GOOD AND FAIR REWARD STRUCTURE IN LIGHT OF THE GAME’S SPARCE CONTENT. THEY DID NOT. THEY BROUGHT BACK THE TEDIOUS GRIND FROM DESTINY ONE, NOT BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO PLEASE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SPEND A YEAR “EARNING” A WEAPON (YOU PEOPLE ARE TOO DUMB TO QUESTION ANYTHING), BUT BECAUSE IT PADS THEIR SHALLOW GAME. SAYING THIS DOESN’T MEAN I WANT BUNGIE OR THE GAME TO FAIL. I ENJOY PLAYING THIS GAME. I ENJOY PLAYING WITH OTHERS. I WOULD ENJOY IT A LOT MORE IF THERE WAS MORE TO ACTUALLY DO WHILE GRINDING FOR WEAPONS AND ARMOR. If you (i.e., defenders of this game) enjoy spending hundreds of hours doing the same thing before being able to progress to the better content, then do you. Enjoy. The game was made for the five of you. I will do what I’ve always done, which is to play until I don’t want to anymore, and then hop on once in a while when I can comfortably reach the light level necessary for the content I do want to do (the raid). Whew! I’m done.

  • Shallow? Really? There's more to do here than there was back when even Dark below was around "BEFORE" House of Wolves, I was there. While yeah the heavy weapons loot pool could and should be better, and there's always more depth that can be added, theres quite a bit to pursue. You have your opinions, that's fine. It however doesn't make it a absolute and 100 percent fact. Honestly it doesn't matter you reply, not to me, but to head off all the sheep who will just flock to anyone/haters/or trolls folks should decide for themselves and not let others decide what to think. If your not alright with the merchandise you paid for, there's other options out there now and many within the next 6 months on the way.

  • My are opinions are mine. I only speak for me, and have never purported to speak for anyone else. Whatever comments you have in that regard are simply irrelevant to the topic. Having gotten that out of the way, my points still stand. I understand that Bungie has unlocked certain quests and missions this week. I previously tried an older mission mission that ended with a very high light level requirement. I simply could not complete it due to having a low light level. They have throttled progression to the point of gating these quests for most people. You need only read other people’s comments on the matter to realize that people are frustrated. At the rate that I am going, I will not be able to access these activities for about two months, at minimum. I guess my point is that having content that I cannot partake in, let alone complete, is like having no content at all. The only meaningful counter-argument destiny defenders pose with respect to this point is to join a clan or play with other people via LFG, but we all know that Bungie doesn’t really want that. At the very least, they make it absurdly difficult to do so, making us resort to this dumb, unwieldy app. And, in any event, joining a clan or using the app for LFG are not sure-fire ways to complete the content. Look, it really is what it is. I play the game when I want to, and I don’t when I don’t. I paid for it, like a pay for many other games. I am really not that terribly upset about it, to be perfectly honest. My real peeve, if you will, is the fact that the people who defend this game hate everyone who presents the slightest criticism against it. The same thing happens with the first installment. Your response is essentially, “if you don’t like it, leave.” I paid for the game, which Bungie admits now gives me access to these forums. So, I don’t have to leave. You, and every one else who hates people like me who complain are free to ignore my comments. You all too can “leave” if you don’t like them.

  • Here's some food for thought...you all bought the game and the expansions. So who's sitting back laughing counting 150+ dollars from each and everyone of us. Ding ding ding B-B-Bungie. Yet here we all are still complaining knowing if they released a forsaken 2 tomorrow for 100 dollars. Everyone on this post would be at the store to buy it. Business makes money regardless of these forums. 27 years as a company. They must know something. Other than that great job with forsaken it is honestly the best destiny has been. I love it

  • Pretty much this☝️. Being from the 80s and 90s in a time when it seemed unrealistic for video games to even exist & year-by-year, console-by-console they continued to improve technically and creatively, it’s unreal that entitlement like this exist. I’m just sitting back and enjoying a video game for what it’s worth. There are things to scratch your head over and sometimes enough to post feedback but the vast majority of the game is incredible- especially with Forsaken.

  • Yup this is just filler till anthem comes out Feb 19. 3 years and bungie still does the same crap with this game. They truly are the definition of insanity. Repeat the same mistakes over and over expecting a different outcome.

? ? Anthem is closer to Monster Hunter World than it is to Destiny. Also it’s only been one year since Destiny 2 launched, not 3.

  • Go to sleep. This dlc is pretty -blam!-ing awesome. Yes the cores for infusion needs addressed, scouts should have never been nerfed, exotic drops need to be more frequently. Not like handing out candy either but I'm 3 weeks in and no new exotics. I should atleast have 2. Other than that I'm fine .

  • I like how you put that. Sure the game could use some tweaks (you know like every game in existence). But overall the experience has been loads of fun. I think the most vocal group in the destiny community tends to be the younger playerbase and people who are being hypercritical of issues that aren't that big of a deal. So unfortunately we get people like this poster on here. Hope he finds a game without any issues.
he won't lol
• Yea man seems like most of the younger gen makes little ass mole hills into mount Rushmores. Very good story. Great raid, pvp is bad ass. Tons if side things to do that actually matter. Ransom rolls and on and on. But let's uninstall the game over some minor stuff lol. Dueces I guess
