At the release of Destiny 2: Forsaken, Scout Rifle damage was reduced for PvE activities. This was further impacted by an issue where Explosive Rounds were negatively effecting damage, which was addressed in a recent hotfix.
To further address the player feedback, we are planning to increase Scout Rifle damage by 15% in a future patch.
Stay tuned for updates.

I was wondering why I stopped using scout rifles.

How much percent did you reduce scout rifle damage in pve? Why was there a nerf to scout rifle damage in pve? Why weren’t we made aware of this? How does a 15% damage bump compare to the nerf?
-
There's the Bungie of the old Destiny 1 days. The same Bungie that nerfed all Auto Rifles to oblivion because of SUROS Regime, the same Bungie that nerfed all hand cannons for over a year because of Thorn and The Last Word. Remember the lead up to D2 when they told us that part of the reason we were losing all our loot was so they could balance weapons individually? Yeah, how does that reconcile against a blanket stealth nerf across an ENTIRE WEAPON CLASS, making the class objectively the worst in the game? Pulse Rifles and some Hand Cannons are better at mid-range, Hand Cannons and Auto Rifles are better at mid to close range, and snipers are better for actual ranged fights. All of this smacks of Bungie trying to prevent a repeat of D2Y1 Nameless Midnight, which had essentially become a must have PVE weapon. Instead of addressing scout rifles with dragonfly perks, they nerfed them across the board... This 15% buff on the nerfed value is still going to leave them less useful than pulse rifles.

please adjust that 15% to 30%

Edited by sister-hawk: 9/22/2018 10:21:34 PMThank god. I didn't realize y'all had done this. No wonder they felt so worthless. Shanks on a patrol location should not be surviving hits from high impact scouts.

In my opinion, Scout rifles are, quite frankly, piss poor right now. And I've been a scout rifle user since early in D1. For example, I ran the Hangman heroic adventure earlier (on my third char) where I usually find a scout rifle to be useful. But not today. Every other weapon type performed as expected but the scout rifles may as well have been pea shooters since they did little to no damage against even low level enemies. So I simply used a sniper rifle, a hand cannon and an auto rifle.

Thank you

My question, why were they nerfed in the first place?

My question, why were they nerfed in the first place?

Just can’t stop! Just get some f’king help...
-
Idiots...
-
Another boner move. Stop fixing stuff that nobody asked for.
-
Why were they ever nerfed?
-
If anything I’d like to Nerf the Shader Drop Rate.
-
I didn't even know they were nerfed....LOL....That explains a lot....I never use them any more....They just feel off.....Now I understand....This is getting old
-
So you are telling me you secretly did ANOTHER nerf that zero people asked for and you still didn’t get it right? Bahaha why am I not surprised. Just give their full damage back. I for one am sick of being out gunned literally across the map by guns that ARE NOT designed to be long range weapon. A scout rifle should always have the advantage over hand cannons, auto rifles, pulse rifles, and goddamn bows from more than half a maps distance. Shit is ridiculous.....
-
So THIS is why all of my Scout Rifles felt like complete shit recently. What the hell was the point of this? Give me one good reason to nerf ANYTHING in PvE, let alone scout rifles.
-
-blam!- YOU!!!
-
Probably best to hit the reset button at this point, take everything back to the point of origin and start fresh. You remind me of the home handyman that tries to level his kitchen table with a handsaw. Constantly going from leg to leg to get it right but instead winding up with a coffee table.
-
Pretty sure that should be affecting not effecting.
-
D2 sucks
-
Wait so people have to find your sneaky hotfixes or issues that were purposely implemented into the game to be addressed? That seems to be a constant trend.
-
Bungie trying 2 be the new EA with all the BS they doing
-
15% or 0.00015% ???

Makes sense why my talon of the eagle at 150 rpm wasn’t one tapping acolytes
