Scout Rifle Damage

At the release of Destiny 2: Forsaken, Scout Rifle damage was reduced for PvE activities. This was further impacted by an issue where Explosive Rounds were negatively effecting damage, which was addressed in a recent hotfix. To further address the player feedback, we are planning to increase Scout Rifle damage by 15% in a future patch. Stay tuned for updates.

  • You certainly know how to spoil some one's weekend. Nerfing my go to weapon on pve with no specifics on when you gonna fix the issue??? NOW, I understand why I left years ago. Thought ill give it a shot. Nah... Nice knowing I made a mistake again.

      To begin with, why do you nerf Scout Rifles? They’re already weak af now you make them more weak????? You people are calling EVERYTHING “an issue” when there is no issue. What the heck. Instead of fixing the dang exotics drops rate (I’ve been playing every single day since Forsaken Day 1) and I have found no exotics. The only exotic I got is thanks to Xur and that’s it. Otherwise what’s is wrong with you calling everthing an issue wtf

      • Something felt off with the scouts, I loved them and used them a lot before Forsaken, come Forsaken I didn't pick up a scout anymore, something didn't sit right, didn't know what. Happy to see scouts return to their glory!

              • Scout Rifles feel like crap and I hardly ever use them for any engagement. I feel like I'm handicapping myself when I use 'em. Scouts were already terrible at the start of D2, and nerfing them the way you did, you should have just removed them instead. I don't understand much of these nerfs at all.

                • Thanks for looking into this. Wondered why it was so easy for me to put the Nameless Midnight away...now it makes sense that you'd done those nerfs quietly - so that players would put that and Mannanahan(?) down, right? I've a Vouchsafe with a roll I like but I just don't use it because A: Scouts don't deal damage and B: Explosive Payload was meh while in its nerfed state. Once these changes are in I'll be happy to try it out again.

                • Why were Scout Rifles damage reduced in PvE at the release of Forsaken? And how much was it reduced by? Is the damage reduction being reverted and then a +15% damage buff being applied after the fact? And most importantly, are there any plans on increasing the difference of Impact between each Scout Rifle archetype? Going from a 200 RPM Scout Rifle to a 150 RPM Scout Rifle is a difference of like 7 Impact. Which is barely anything in PvE.

                  Please, Bungie, could you at least end the nerfs for the sake of PvE? It feels like the "Go Fast" update did not even happen. Explosive Payload was in a great place even before the "Go Fast" update, but now it feels like a debuff more than a perk. Y1 Nameless Midnight was incredible in PvE, now it feels so watered down. With all of that being said, I am still keeping my head above the water. I am doing my best to stay positive. There are some changes that I adore, but there are some that I wished were left alone. I hope you do something good for scout rifles and explosive payload. Again, please, Bungie, stop it with nerfs for the sake of PvE at least. Edit: I do not know if these stats will mean anything... Unfortunately, this all I have. Year 1 (Before the "Go Fast" update) EDZ: Trostland Nameless Midnight Precision/E. Payload (97/54) Total: 151 "Go Fast" Update EDZ: Trostland Nameless Midnight Precision/E. Payload (111/50) Total: 161 Forsaken DLC EDZ: Trostland Nameless Midnight Precision/E. Payload (111/33) Total: 144 I greatly apologize if this does little to no help.

                  • So you are saying that you intend to (overall) nerf scout rifles by 20% in Forsaken following your "buff" of 15% to the nerfed damage. A change that wasn't needed, wanted, or communicated. This is old Bungie all over again. Why don't you just remove the nerf entirely since it was silly to begin with?
