Scout Rifle Damage

At the release of Destiny 2: Forsaken, Scout Rifle damage was reduced for PvE activities. This was further impacted by an issue where Explosive Rounds were negatively effecting damage, which was addressed in a recent hotfix. To further address the player feedback, we are planning to increase Scout Rifle damage by 15% in a future patch. Stay tuned for updates.

  • 15%... So now they're no longer Styrofoam guns I toss at the enemy but now a small paperwieght I can chuck at them. Bungie.... you do know that currently the best rifle primary in game right now that feels fine are pulse rifles? Shit, Crucible is littered with them and you have a quest chain to get an OP pulse..... Still going to use my bows and Death by Scorn sidearms since they feel like the most well balanced weapons.

  • Who decided to nerf the already underperforming scouts in the first place? And who thinks only 15% will be enough? High impact scouts are the worst weapons in the game, yet they should be top tier.... The dev team need to properly fix scouts and remove masterworks cores from infusion....

    • So you nerfed scout rifles, want to nerf sleeper but yet wont remove masterwork cores from infusion despite all the posts on the forms.....Way to listen tomthe playerbase Bungo.....I think you need to write the manual "How to drive away your playerbase by Bungie"

        • Glad to know this is being addressed since it's obvious that Scout Rifles have been under performing since Forsaken dropped, [b]but[/b] why were Scout Rifles even nerfed in the first place. Like, who the hell complaints about scout Rifles doing too much damage in PVE?

            Once again, Bungie continually shows they don’t care about their community by going on about bs no one was asking about and completely ignoring all the legitimate concerns, like masterwork cores in infusion, terrible exotic drop rates and high likelihood of duplicates, and the frikken third subclass only available behind an activity most players don’t have the time or inclination to complete! Seriously, stop being dicks, Bungie.

            • Glad to know you’re looking into it, scouts have been feeling kinda weak in PvE. Not sure if it’s just me but I’m still looking for a good legendary auto rifle, they also don’t feel as strong lately. Anyone got some suggestions?

              • Let me guess, increase scout rifle damage by 15% while enemies gain armor against scout rifles +30%. This somehow works in bungie logic since an enemy buff isn't the same thing as a weapon nerf....

                  • As a player who just started destiny 2 I thought damn scout rifles really suck this time around unless you are landing only headshots, which is hard to do up close. Body damage is to low for the fire rate for me.

                    • Even before the "nerf" I never felt scouts were really in a good spot besides a handful and that was only because of their rolls. The best example to look at is the high impact scouts. To me in D2 they never felt good to use. Slow rof and reload with mediocre damage output. High impact to me should be able to 1 shot t2 enemies reliably like acolytes and the like and maybe 2-shot t3 like knights. I could be remembering wrong but they always felt like they didnt do the damage they needed to for being, at the time, the primary for long range engagements. As is, even with the damage falloff of handcannons and pulses, they're still a better option and kill quicker than scouts. Thats just how it feels to me anyways.

                    • They are being "buffed" 15% of the nerfed damage. For a total nerf of 20%. Why even bother bungie?

                    • Here's an idea Bungie. This ENTIRE issue with balancing is 100% due to your desire to "level" the playing field between casual and hardcore gamers, or skilled and unskilled players if you prefer. You're so caught up in controlling the results in your game that you are incapable of "undoing" the one thing that make this an perpetual game of give and take. REMOVE TARGET ACQUISITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let a players skill translate to their ability to do well. Stop making it about which weapons YOU deem worthy of "allowing" a player to be successful. If you took away ALL target acquisition and left the player's own skill and randomly-rolled perks vary the game-play, all weapon DPS could then be left to computer-calculation. But no. Your marketing-tactic since getting in bed with Activision has been to do whatever it takes to lure new and unskilled players into the game, at the absolute expense of the respect for your most die-hard customers. Stop pretending like this issue isn't fixable, permanently.
