Yeah the nerf to power level progression reeeally sucks. All it does is artificially lengthen the game. If you don't have a designated group then it is gonna be a long grind to be able to begin playing endgame again. I understand wanting a grind, but don't take away progression means that we had before. They may not be nerfing weapons but they nerfed power levels a ton.

And that’s what it feels like

Edited by Saxifraga: 5/17/2018 1:36:56 PMAnd there excuse now is: The community told us they wanted grind, when in fact it's just bad game design with timegating. It was even worse in year one vanilla D1 when you couldn't even do strikes as solo player. Bungie just isn't able to produce a GAME!
-
Yeah this gives me flashbacks to year 1 destiny when I was solo and couldn't run nightfalls. I didn't get any exotics foooorever.
-
I used to solo those -blam!-ers. Camp with icebreaker for 2 and a half hours and then die right before the boss goes down. That was fun like getting a colonoscopy at the dentist but worth it once I got that sweet ghorn.

Wait until September and you’re underpowered to do the story missions. That’s when people are going to be truly pissed off.
-
That’s never happened and never will. If they saw the playerbase was gonna be in that position there would be a consumable like the spark of light thing in D1. They are stupid but they ain’t that stupid.
-
Maybe wait and see. They’ve certainly set it up to happen with this -blam!- power throttling scheme they’ve put in place. At this point I’m guessing that the September update never happens because players who don’t raid or do Trials will have left in such large numbers if they don’t roll this back to something more reasonable. D1 progression from TTK on was perfect.
-
It won’t happen. People gettin all excited about slow progress when it’s months until next content drop. Wanted a grind. They got it.
-
Bungie will have to back track on this idiotic progression throttling or lose most of their playerbase. It can be tougher but right now they’ve made it so that there’s no reason for the vast majority of players to play after completing 2 or 3 milestones. That’s downright stupid.
-
If someone needs an irrelevant number to keep them playing then the game is done. Solo players won’t be doing the activities that require 350+ which is the level everyone should be at by now. Players with active clans and who use LFG will be able to do end game stuff to get to the level they need above 350+. The rest can chase crucible glory and valour quests, vendor ranks, ornaments, exotics, armour sets, eververse gear, whatever. The power level isn’t the be all and end all. Never has been.
-
Power level is the be all end all because literally everything is locked behind it and Bungie has effectively changed the game enough that solo players cannot progress. Bungie has screwed the game up royally to placate a minuscule portion of the community because, as usual they have no sense of perspective. They’ll backtrack or the game will be finished because your 10% of the community can’t pay the bills.
-
Prestige Nightfall and new raid lair. That’s it.
-
EP as well. So basically everything that allows progression is blocked for solo players. 345 is a hard cap for solo players. Bungie acknowledges that in this weeks TWAB. They’re already planning some sort of rollback for this idiocy.
-
EP is the only one solo players should be pissed about. The other two have always been an LFG or clan activity.
-
I notice it’s pretty easy for you to decide from your vantage point of being coddled by Bungie how the rest of us should play the game and what the rest if us should value. No one likes the Raids or Trials. This is evidenced by the fact that almost no one does them. Focusing on those is as disastrous as the ruinous pvp focus that brought us vanilla D2.
-
Nightfalls should have MM
-
Yes and no. It would allow solo players to take part. It would also allow assholes to sit at the spawn point and not contribute and gain loot. Like what has always happened in strikes. There’s also the factor of people just being shite at the game. I don’t mind carrying. If I feel like it. Not when I’m trying to get things done during my limited time in game.

So matchmaking has always been optional. Get you premade together and rock it. Don’t begrudge everyone else option just because you only need one.
