For Honor went from peer-to-peer to dedicated servers, so can Destiny
From IGN:

I'm hoping this will give Bungie an idea of how to save Crucible.

People who lag will still lag on dedicated servers, but also people who live close to the server will get a huge advantage over people who have high ping, and they will have high ping because there is no server close to them, they will have to connect to some european/USA server. This is a horrible solution for global game like Destiny 2. RIght now you have the same latency to other players as they have to you. It's fair as it could be for a game over the internet, nobody gets advantage because he lives close to a server, nobody gets advantage because he is the host. Asking to change this system for dedicated servers is wrong.
