Letter to Bungie

Bungie, I know I'm putting myself in front of a very, very angry mob: but I just want to say that despite everything that's going on in the Destiny community, in other gaming communities, developers and publishers - I will still play Destiny. Sure, I agree that Destiny 2 needs to have a better endgame loot system, have more meaningful rewards (i.e. Strike-specific loot), and I really hoped that Curse of Osiris DLC had a separate Strike other than the two they included from the campaign, etc. However, although I recognize that Destiny 2 has its flaws and actively criticize it (like any gamer would do), I still have fun playing it. Why? I enjoy the story, what it means to be human with and without Light, and the lore that lies outside of the player's scope. I also enjoy the gameplay: shooting invasive aliens, racing against time in Nightfalls, cooperating during Raids, even kicking butt in the Crucible (eh, maybe not so much in Trials ^_^;). I also enjoy reading the lore for specific gear (I was also really a fan of the Grimoire [flinching from the angry mob]). But I mostly enjoy playing Destiny because I get to play with my friends, and I have a blast whenever I do. Joining my first clan in the original Destiny was my first step in becoming more comfortable with online multiplayer, which I originally wasn't a fan of. Now, after 3 years and even when I haven't met them in person yet, we still play, coordinate playtimes, have pretty hilarious conversations, and even have real talks when it comes to work and school. Also, helping other players complete the Nightfall, guiding them through Raids and seeing their reactions when taking down the final boss, all of these moments are what make my Destiny experience novel and unique. My social experience online has evolved immensely because of Destiny, and that is something I am very grateful for. Say what you will about my post, positive or negative. Call me foolish, naive, deluded, wrong, cheesy, or shoot it down with Year 1 Gjallarhorns if you will. You have every right to your opinions and what games you choose to play just as much as I and every other gamer. My experience with Destiny has been phenomenal, and if yours hasn't, I respect your decision to leave the game. However, if you chose to leave Destiny and still continue to roam the forums for any chance to post (potentially severe and offensive) negative comments to any post supporting Bungie or Destiny, you're spreading toxicity that is not healthy for any gaming community. You can have your opinions, but it is not right to deny everyone else their enjoyment and pleasure from games. Bungie, I chose to embark on this journey with you since Destiny Alpha Day 1, and I will be there until the very end. All I ask is that you continue improving and making Destiny a better place to play and socialize, expanding its universe (because I'm a lore-nut), and be more transparent with its [Destiny] development to the community. - Also, Zavala's quote post-The Red War campaign, "We will dare to behold the unknown", sounds very similar to my profile status/quote. Just saying ;) Aude Somnium Ignota, yimroids, the Add-Killer
