Hypothetical Situation - Far enough down the line, when Destiny 2 is considered an older game and is becoming played less and less to the point when barely anyone plays online, Bungie decides to pull the plug on the game's servers.
Seeing that D2 requires internet to be played, will players still be able to journey through the planets that we discovered and fought for long ago, even with no servers activated?
Even though games like Halo 2 never had to have constant connection, will we ever be able to go play and reminisce on even Destiny 2 story missions like we can on those Halo campaigns, or even just walk around and interact in the social spaces and on the planets, even if they be unpopulated?
Simply asked, will the game be able to be played at all when the servers are taken down or will it become unplayable?

But I'm sure they would lose money that way. A game you pay 60 to 100 dollars to not be able to pay after a couple of years. I guess all games are becoming this. Ie: Battle Fronts and Titan R.I.P.

No servers, no game.
