The radio handlers sent word to the convoy that a dispatch was being sent to their coordinates. Upon receiving word, the expeditionary force was quick to hold position and adopt a hull-down position should the inbound ship decide to act in a hostile manner. They were not taking any chances with a potentially hostile force. The tanks moved position to cover, as did the armored trucks, soldiers piling out and taking up defensive positions. The modernized halftracks shifted their own positions, their flak guns moving to face the sky in preparation for a potentially hostile force. With the force present on the ground, they would be a significant threat if engaged from any angle.
