Shakily, she pulled the trench coat tighter around her body, offering a weak smile as her token of thanks. Gaining her footing, she limped a little, but seemed as if she could walk. Judging by the burns, lacerations, and bruises, it was not at all unlikely that her legs or feet had been injured at some point to hinder her walking. Nonetheless, she seemed as if she’d rather stand on her own.

*Alice followed, ready to catch the woman if she had to.* <You shouldn’t be out here in this condition. I will escort you to my apartment where I will be able to treat your other injuries. This way, please.> *She gently took ahold of the woman’s wrist and began to lead her down the sidewalk. She didn’t move too fast to make sure that the woman was able keep up with her pace. The android certainly did not not wait for any sort of objection, but as far as she could tell it had no hostile intent either. She could see that on the back of its neck, imbedded in a stripe of yellow fur was a small metal circle which resembled a sort of cap or hatch.*

The wounded woman was in no condition to disagree or to defend herself. She simply hurt too badly. The android animal noticed that as it went to reach for her hand, the woman almost jumped, but accepted it none the less. She needed the assistance. She followed the machine, half-limping, half-walking, trying to keep a decent pace as they headed to the apartment.
-
*They entered the building and she led the woman down a hall. She stopped at the third door on the left, unlocked it, and ushered the woman in.* *Her choice of decor was unusual to say the least.* *There were assorted items on shelves in the living room, mostly every day objects of little interest. There was a couch and a television, the former occupied by a tan colored cat with long black tufts sticking off of its ears. A neglected kitchen was separated by a small bar.* <Please, lay on the couch.>
-
The woman entered the home cautiously, nodding in thanks to the machine that had been so kind as to take her in. Without sound, she did as she was instructed, laying down on the couch, wincing as she did so. Ever so gently, she moved the cat, forcing it to jump down so she could lay down, though she assumed the cat would be back.
-
*It made an annoyed sort of squawk and trotted off. Alice knelt down beside the woman and looked her up and down. Unknown to the woman, Alice was using sound waves to try and find any abnormalities.* <My name is Alice-142 if I haven’t already told you.>
-
It appeared that the woman, aside from her extensive external trauma, seemed to have some internal bleeding and bruising. One of her ribs was fractured. Her right ankle was out of place as well, and the orbital blowout fracture could be seen too. On the outside, she was just as much a mess. Her body was covered in cauterized lacerations, her tongue looked to have been roughly ripped out, the stump cauterized as well. She was bruised and burnt all over from her neck to her feet, and on her right shoulder, there was an image of a sparrow in flight burnt into her skin. Someone had done quite a job on her. She nodded, however, to the machine mentioning its name.

Edited by Skatch142: 1/22/2018 5:30:33 PM<You have a broken rib, dislocated ankle, a severely damaged eye, internal bleeding in multiple areas and a multitude of burns. I am unable to heal your eye or replace your tongue, but I can treat the burns and internal injuries. Just a moment.> *She left and came back a few minutes later with three different first aid kits. She opened the first and took out what looked like an overly complicated flashlight. She shined it onto the areas where the woman was bleeding internally. Though she felt a slight sting, the flashlight repaired any burst blood vessels, veins and arteries.* <This is going to hurt. Here is something to bite.> *She stuck a wad of clean gauze into the woman’s mouth and set her ankle almost immediately after. This android certainly had a strange idea of proper beside manner. She pulled the gauze back out of the woman’s mouth when she was done.* <Next, I will treat the burns. I have an ointment which will heal them within twenty-four hours. Your clothes will need to be removed, however. Shall I apply the ointment or would you prefer to apply it in private? Nod if you want my assistance, shake your head if you wish to go without it.>
-
The woman winced at the flashlight doing whatever it had done, but nonetheless she knew fixing things was not exactly painless. She was surprised to find the gauze stuffed in her mouth, but her reaction made her glad she had it. Feeling her ankle pop back into place, she groaned, an odd sound, but one of the few she could still make. Breathing heavily after that, she calmed herself and gently moved her foot to make sure it was alright. Seeing that she wasn’t in pain, she shook her head no. She would apply the salve herself. Ironic, she supposed, that now she no longer offered up her body.
-
*She nodded and fished a tube of red gel out of a first aid kit. The tube had been wrapped in a sandpapery tape, though the reason for this was unclear. She handed it to the woman and stood up.* <I will be in my room searching for a set of clothes to dress yourself with. When you are ready, knock on the coffee table and I will bring them to you.> *She turned and trotted off into her room, leaving the woman by herself. Well, by herself if one did not count the cat which had curled back up on the couch.*
-
After the android left, she quickly stripped and treated her wounds with the gel, a little confused by the sandpapery wrap. After making sure to treat all of her wounds, she put back on her shredded clothes, and then knocked on the coffee table, waiting.

*Alice stepped back inside with clothes draped over both arms. On her left was a purple t-shirt, a grey tank top, and a rather conservative looking dress. On the right was a pair of jeans, a pair of shorts, and a dark blue hoodie. She also had a set of underwear in each hand.* <All of these should be able to fit you. Choose what you would like to wear.>
-
Her immediate choice were the jeans and the hoodie, and of course a pair of underwear. She nodded in thanks again, offering a weak smile.

Edited by Skatch142: 1/23/2018 12:54:41 AM*Alice set down a bra and a shirt as well, making sure she had a full outfit.* <I will leave you to change. Knock on the table again when you wish for me to return.> *She left for her room, presumably to put the rest of the clothes away.*
-
The woman nodded and as Alice left, she set about redressing herself. Quickly slipping into clothes that didn’t totally expose her, she knocked on the table, and then took a seat on the couch, sitting Indian-style. Once she sat down, she set about fooling with her hair, pulling it down to cover her blind eye and that side of her face.
-
*Alice came back out of her room and sat down on the couch next to the woman. She turned herself to face the woman, although in reality it didn’t really matter what direction she was looking.* <I may have already told you this, but I see using echolocation. That is why I have not asked you to communicate through writing, I am unable to perceive color or light at all. Do you perhaps know the language of Morse code?>
-
She nodded. Even she had been taught Morse code. She knew how to do it rather well, actually. Smiling a little bit, she now had somewhat of a way to communicate.
-
<Good. Please, tell me your name and what happened to you.>
-
She exhaled, and then began to tap out a condensed version. I am Rachael. I was betrayed by someone I thought I could trust. He left me for someone I wronged before. That man tortured me for information and for what I had done to his daughter. I was involved with some bad people before I ended up here, and I do not know if I am proud of who I was or who I am.
-
*She was silent for a few seconds before she spoke again.* <Tell me Racheal, do you wish to be a good person?>
-
There was a fairly lengthy pause before her tapping resumed. I do not know what I should be. I do not know even if there is redemption to be had. I have never been in this sort of situation before and it is unnerving. While Alice couldn’t see it, Rachael was blushing hard. This was something she didn’t exactly want to or know how to come to terms with.
-
Edited by Skatch142: 1/23/2018 3:27:22 AM<I believe that redemption is always possible if you wish for it. If you do not know what you should be, then try to be a good person.> *Though It was hard to tell, Alice’s tone of voice changed to be more understanding and friendly.*
-
I do not know if I can say that I agree with you. There are crimes that are not forgivable, and I cannot say that I am not guilty of such crimes.
-
<I do not know about these crimes, therefore to me you are as good as innocent. You appear to have paid a debt as well in the form of one of your eyes and your ability to speak.>
-
There was a pause for a moment. She sat back on the couch and had to think for a second. She was being offered a second chance here. This was an opportunity, maybe to make things a little better, maybe to actually live a real life... but she didn’t deserve that. She couldn’t have. Leaning forwards again, she began to tap out another message. Do you really think I am worth a second chance?
-
<Yes, I do.> *She set a reassuring hand on Racheal’s shoulder as she said this, nodding.*
