I upvoted you but not gonna happen. They want this game to be as mindless and easy as possible in order to attract a bigger audience. Which technically worked since they made a lot of money.
Granted a lot of people stopped playing but they still easily surpassed their sales target I can assure you that.
D1 sold ~5.3 million copies and had a devoted following. D2 sold more, but it has done tremendous damage to the Destiny franchise; and Bungie's image as a studio.
Without changes which reinvigorate the devoted side of their fanbase (those of us who enjoyed D1), Bungie are looking at staff cuts and dismissals. They sold out their base D1 fans for casuals. Casuals aren't the sort of people who drive a franchise. Casuals play a game for a week and then move on to the next game.

Anyone with common sense will always back their biggest supporters first over everyone else. AkA those who played D1 for thousands of hours because they will never go anywhere and will always populate a game reliant on people to stay active. But somehow they missed that memo. Easy as this to understand. Whithout a solid base of dedicated players online most of the time there will not and cannot be a solid playerbase in the game. ;)
