I'd like to see a mixture of the two. So, full selection as in Destiny 1, but maybe a small bonus to pairing certain perks to encourage people to use certain combinations (i.e. for instance, current Attunement of the Sky for the Dawnblade might give +10% Stability while in air). You could create quite a large number of perk combos that way, which really adds depth to the game

I would like to see both systems in the game. A choice of fixed perks/perk bundles for newbies and casuals with the option to have a larger selection with individually selectable skill options for the interested/more experienced players to choose from. The fixed skill bundles could even include recommendations for some effective armour combinations that would synergize with the skills. Statements like: “This combination works well with armour that provides higher resilience.” Or “This combination is particularly effective when combined with the Stag exotic helm.” Or “This combination is favoured by many Hunters who fight at close range.” These could be included in the descriptions of the fixed skill bundles. The game might even require players to unlock the fixed bundles before customizing is available. Just a few thoughts.

  • I agree. I think that the current system is actually a good Idea, but I also am a big fan of Options. So perhaps keep the trees as they are but add more "free perks" that players can choose from. Or perhaps have a perk tree option to choose from kinda like runes are now in League of Legends.

  • Maybe bundles up until you complete some in-game activity... then customization? And then subsequently add quests you can complete to add small bonuses to bundles to bring them up to par with custom combinations? Possibilities are endless. That system almost strikes me as what they had going in ME: Andromeda
