She took a moment to gather her thoughts, trying to register JT's goal. Did he actually care? Or was he just probing for information.
Either way, she would answer.
"I have... A glitch, if you want to call it."

"Alright, so I messed up. Can I fix it?"
-
"Not going to ask what it is, alright. I don't know. Might see someone else about it. Especially since you said you regret making me." She sat down then, dragging her knees up to her chin, resting her head on them as she wrapped her arms around her legs. Her tone was... Depressed. She knew what she said, but didn't mean it. JT wouldn't care though, she knew it.
-
"Kid I said that because you've been nothing but an ass to me. By 'I regret you' I meant 'I could've made you with less fuxkups', and I messed up a lot of shit with you. Evident by the glitch."
-
She let out a sigh. Maybe he did care. "Do you even want to know what it is? No matter, I'll tell you anyways. Its a split in my personality, two sides to a coin. One is me, the one you're talking to right now. The other responds to aggression or signs of it, I can't register it because it is me, I can never tell when it overrides and acts until after whatever happened, happened. Its why I left, well tried, since you followed me." She closed her eyes then, planting her forehead against her knees now, hiding her face.
-
"Yeah that must've been my fuxkup. Want me to show you a trick I use when I get all assholy to people? Might help you."
-
"I want it fixed, not a diversion for it. Its already caused enough problems, like pissing you off." She let out a sigh. No, not a diversion, she wanted results. Not to have this abrasive side, not to have to blank and come back to someone trying to kill her.
-
"Right. Want me to fix it here and now?"
-
She scoffed. "That's what made the glitch in the first place. No, you need actual tools, monitors. I'm not a laptop to be rebooted a million times over. You created me, JT. And I thank and respect you for that. But as your creation, do you even love me like a father would his daughter? Or do you resent me, enough to make me doubt my existence and the reason why I'm here."
-
"Penny I've abandoned every single last kid I've ever had. Just let me work this whole creator thing out before I try to dad you. And yeah, I love you, obviously. Wouldn't make you otherwise."

She fell silent for the moment, an awful long time as she was in thought. Did she buy into it? Did she believe him? Yes, she did, speaking again finally. "That shed, there's a stairway to a vault. Super computer, work tables, armory, tools. Its all set up to my liking, the servers in the computer designed to communicate with me, and take my conscious if I ever 'die', and store it in a new body. I'll meet you there, biometrics will scan and let you in."
-
"I don't have fingerprints or any flesh. You'll need to manually let me in."
-
"You really don't think I thought of that? I didn't word it right, but you get the point. I need a moment."
-
"Alright." JT approached the biometrics scanner and entered the vault, where he waited for Penny.
-
The shed seemed out of place for the most part, but over time it would seem more intentional, not awkward. The initial door had a lock that scanned him when he placed a hand on the handle, a beep let out as it unlocked. Then the second door inside, down a short staircase. Now it did a full scan, a small node above it scanning him with a green ray, which detailed every part of him. A moment went by, and it opened up with a clunk, an internal lock undoing itself. Inside though, was a large complex, machines at work, constructing an entirely new body for Penny, no shell on it yet as the chassis was still being finished. Soon it would be in storage, waiting for its host to enter. The massive super computer was against one wall, off to the side. Its actual workings hidden, out of sight. Just a large holographic screen with a keyboard on a glass shelf jutting from the wall. The entire room being a sterile white with a sleek futuristic look.
-
"-blam!- this room, haven't seen anything like it since Cedyetica." JT didn't bother to look around the room beyond what equipment and screens there were, and the body in construction. He waited patiently for Penny.
-
Roughly thirty minutes went by, before Penny actually entered. She had stayed sitting as she was out in the fields, thinking to herself, trying to understand things. She didn't say much, instead speaking to something that wasn't there initially. "Bismuth, bring up maintenance deck." Then, a disembodied voice replied, an Irish woman's voice. Natural, exotic. Beautiful as it rang throughout the high tech room. "acknowledged. Specifics, 2E?" "None, bring it all up." She stopped in the center of the room then, as a click was heard, and a circle in the floor gave way. Rather large, forcing JT to step back. It halved, and then slid under the floors as another circle was raised up to replace it. A table lay on it, cushioned to support Penny's body. Several smaller tables around it, wheels on them, organized with tools and supplied. The monitor of the computer lit up then, displaying real time information on Penny.
-
"Right, ready to start?" JT asked. He tried his damnedest to not make a joke that would make her freak out about being opened up.
-
She glanced to him then, a neutral look on her face, hiding emotions. "Normally I would work on myself. But the second body is still being built. Please don't damage me further." Her voice cracked, as she didn't mean it in a rude way. She was more begging, sorrowful still. Walking forward, she lay down on her back on the table, a ring rising around her forehead, which then displayed her entire conscious as a holographic map on the screen. He had access to her every whim and thought once more.
Mind if we skip this part? Like last time, I don't know the specifics about Penny's internals. Plus I don't actually have much A.I experience beyond knowing slight bits about coding.
-
Sure I'll leave you to start it up again
-
Kk.
JT had finally finished up, though it took him some time to correct all the code. He managed to reattach her head through a fine tuned welding process, since he had to actually physically reset part of her 'Brain' earlier. He sat down on thin air, locking his legs into place in a reclined state.
-
With it done, the computer ran diagnostics, the AI named "Bismuth" looking over everything. The Irish voice having been directing him at times. JT had succeeded in fixing the error in her coding, a literal divide in her matrix having existed, but repaired now. The reset having cleared the abrasive part of her AI, she was left with normal self. Finally. A few minutes went by before it was that the computer winked an all clear, and Penny jolted once more, signifying her awakening.
-
"Welcome to the land of the living," JT said to Penny, watching her jolt up. His face adopted an expression of happiness that it had worked, and her awakening was a sign.
-
She sat for a moment, running a diagnostic of herself, checking all that JT did. The android wanted to be sure it was fixed. A few moments went by before she did nod, moving to collect her shirt from where it lay. Having to disconnect and then reconnect a head meant removing clothing. "If I was living it would be different. But, thank you, JT. I can't think of how to repay you. Maybe not insulting would be a good idea, although now it won't happen.
-
"Heh. Don't worry about payment." Penny was like a daughter to JT, so there was no need for him to take payment. Nor any ways, given her financial status. He stood up from his seated position and gave a sigh of relief.
