The woman stopped abruptly, a bit of a surprised expression about her. She took a moment to reply, her voice shaking a bit.
"I was...
Not...."
She let out a sigh then, her shoulders going slack as her head hung a bit.
"Was following you because I saw you kill him, wanted to find out why."

“Easy. Bad people get lots of money put on them by good people. Good people get even more money put on them by bad people. He pissed off both good and bad people, so his corpse is worth about seventeen times it’s weight in gold. So I slit his throat, took some pictures, and sent them in. I’m being wired the cash as we speak.” [b]He uncrosses his arms. Behind the bandanna he was smiling, proud of his work. He’d explained it so many times, it was a wonder he didn’t have an actual speech memorized.[/b] “Get That chin up. Curiosity is nothing to be ashamed of. Unless you’re too curious, that could definitely get you killed. Maybe by me, if you piss off the wrong people.”

She flinched then, taking that a bit harshly. "But I was told to be curious about everything, to learn? Is that not what I should do?"

“Just don’t go poking your head around places that people tell you to stay out of, alright? If somebody tells you not to do something, don’t do it unless you want to get hurt. I’m not trying to scare you, just giving you a bit of a warning.” [b]He puts a hand out, presumably to shake. He even takes his glove off, revealing an extremely pale hand.[/b] “Theodynn Reikals. Mercenary extraordinaire. You would be?”

She went to put her hand out, but then hesitated, then put it flat against his. Clearly she had never given a hand shake before. "Penny!" Now she was a bit more optimistic, a bit of a grin on her face.

[b]He chuckles, and shakes her hand, even if she didn’t know what he was doing. He looks at her for a second, deciding carefully what words he would say. She didn’t know what a handshake was, so she was one of three things. A: Mentally disabled. B: Raised very poorly. Or C: She was recently put into existence. He bet it was the last one, would explain the unfinished arm.[/b] “See what I’m doing there? That’s called a handshake. It’s polite to do when somebody puts their hand out like that. It’s a greeting. But it’s nice to meet you, Penny. Got a last name, or just the first?”

She looked a bit quizzical, but absorbed the information nonetheless. "Nope, just Penny." Once he finished, she looked at her hand, then shrugged, putting her attention back to him.

“Well... You new around here, Penny? I am. Literally just showed up to kill that guy you saw me kill, but I might stick around for a while, pick up some more work. I have a feeling it’ll be a fun time, just from what I’ve heard about his place. And the fact that people here are wanted by tons of people sometimes. And I’m just a sucker for getting some extra cash.”

"No, never been here before. I follow another around, which is how I got here. Just kinda explore every now and then. Which is how I watched you... kill, that guy...." She trailed off then, and shivered.

“Damn. And here I was hoping I struck gold and found someone who could help me navigate and talk to a murderer. Well, nothing to be done now. Guy’s dead. If it’s any consolation, he was possibly one of the scummiest people I’ve ever met. Killed people, countless thefts, couple... Things I won’t mention, bad dude overall. Don’t feel bad for him dying.”

"I-.... Yeah I don't have anything really to say." She fell silent then, not knowing how to respond to what he said.

“Well, that’s a loss of words on your part, not mine. You know of any major settlements around these parts, or am I already in one? I guessed I was in one, the buildings and shops gave it away.”

"This is the only one I know of, yeah. So yeah, this is one." She shrugged, glancing about where they where now. In truth Penny had no idea.

“Well then. What exactly are you, Penny? You’re way too clueless to be anything but one of two things. You’re either just created today, or you’re an amnesiac.”

"I wasn't exactly created today, more like about a week ago I was given sentience."

“Ah, so you’re a machine then. Android, I’d presume from the human looks and such. Probably don’t try and take a bath then, might short circuit.”

"Well no shit, Sherlock. Water doesn't do much to me however."

“Well that was a tonal shift and a half. Who put a stick in your ass all the sudden? Cursing and word usage changing entirely... Might be a fault in your coding, if I had to guess.”

"My what? I'm fine, haven't had any problems." She didn't seem to notice, either the android had a rough edge, or split personality.

“Your tone. It went from happy-go-lucky naive girl to asshole real fast. Whoever programmed you has a sick sense of humor.” [b]He lifts up his prism, staring into it. Hundreds upon hundreds of weapons swirled about the prism.[/b] “You have to eat, Penny? Or is that not necessary?”

"I'm an android, I don't eat." She crossed her arms then, leaning to a side.

“Just askin’. Then what do you do? Charge? Do you have to change your own batteries out? Double A or triple A?” [b]He chuckles, proud of his own shitty joke.[/b] “All joking aside, how do you get more energy then?”

"I have a fusion core, the specifics aren't needed. Never run out of energy basically."

“Damn. Should get one of those for my ship. And a better ship that’s not a piece of shit junker, for that matter. Do you have any idea where I might buy or steal one, besides from you? Not that I would actually do that.”

"I don't know, all I know is that I have one."

“Well... Do you happen to know who your creator is so I can ask them?”
