I can almost guarantee that it's 99% exaggerated. Somebody claiming "eight hours" usually just means "two coins". I doubt they played nonstop for 8 hours straight. Some people might, sure, but not enough for a proper sample size.
When people are upset they want to vent. That's half of what's happening here. Exotics were nerfed and were meant to be low in the first place - if the coins didn't cause you to get an exotic every hour, this response was pretty much guaranteed considering the general attitude towards the game atm.

I'm not mad. I'm just posting my personal experience with ToC. I played 12 hours yesterday.(not straight) but every time I looked on I played for the full 4 hours each time yesterday. I received 0 exotics. I even opened 3 raid chests just for shits and giggles. Not even one there. Had 2 clan mates play strikes 8 hours straight and 0 exotics as well. Out of my entire clan toc has not worked yet.

Oh, I freak out over plenty of stuff here. I just wish people realized that if you freak out over everything, nothing has any emphasis. Because of this, the real issues will be ignored and passed off as "just another freak-out". People really need to only lose their heads over something when it's significant and, more importantly, CONFIRMED!

Totally I'll also freak out when something is confirmed, or I feel really robbed.(such as getting 5 riskrunners from 5 exotics)
