Grant’s face went cold, stony as he drew his revolver from his belt. Like he said, he had no qualms shooting, or even possibly killing, Bedlam. So that’s precisely what he did. He didn’t say a single word, just took a shot at Bedlam’s chest with a .45-70 round from his revolver. He wasn’t going to tolerate or take any chances. And if Bedlam killed him or hated him? So be it.

  • His eyes changed a dark red right as the bullet had hit. Bedlam fell to his knees, grunting in pain. He coughed blood onto the ground as he spoke. "F*CK! Oooh! Tricky lil b*stard...thought you were the nice one." I'm just as capable as you, *sshole.

  • “Nobody threatens my little girl. Not even family.” Grant just shot at him again, his face not changing in the slightest. There was no malice in his face, no anger or frustration. There was remorse, if anything. Grant didn’t want to do any of this, but his family wasn’t getting hurt. Not again. Not after all he’d gone through to get them together.

  • "Oh, f*ck her." Bedlam's body fell over after he was shot, he winced as kept looking up at Grant. "Kill her and maybe I can get back to what I'm supposed to be doing." Considering Grant is about to kill us and you're the one currently in control...that's doubtful. I'll be taking after we come back.

  • “May God have mercy on your soul, Bedlam. I know you’re a good person deep down. But I can’t let someone like who you are now go on. Goodbye, son.” And Grant simply threw his gun off to the side. “No. No. If I kill you here, I’m no better than you are. If you bleed out here, that blood is on my hands, but at least I’ll be in good conscience that I tried to let you live. Maybe you’ll learn from your mistake. Never threaten my family.”

  • Bedlam snickered and had a wicked grin on his face. "Oh yes, don't droop to my level, Grant. You wouldn't want to see another so called child of yours die, do ya? Especially by your hand? This is perfect..." Sh*t! No! Grant, kill me! F*ck stop being you and kill me! God damnit! He can't hear you~

  • “I... I...” Bedlam sees a tear hit the ground, it seems Grant wasn’t the hardened badass he claimed to be. In truth, he was just an old man who wanted his family to be safe. He slowly walked over to Bedlam, and stared him in the eyes again. This time, those eyes weren’t stony and cold. They were frail, and anguished. “I can’t leave you like this...” Grant pulled a Stimpack from his coat pocket. He slowly stabs Bedlam in the chest with it, injecting the healing liquid into him.

  • I think I'm starting to like him... GRANT! WHY?! He loves you too much and that's now your downfall. Good job. Ya sorta played yourself here. "Thank you...father." Bedlam wrapped his arms around Grant for a hug, the wicked smile never leaving his face.

  • Grant didn’t even hug back at all. He just sat there. “I saw the smile on your face, Bedlam. Don’t think for a second you’re leaving this place. Not until this is gone. You’ll have to kill me if you want out of here while you’re like... This. Though I suppose that won’t quite be a problem, will it?”

  • "Ugh. I never liked you. You try too hard at being a perfect father for kids that don't even deserve it." Bedlam let go of Grant and instead moved to go sit down again. He gestured to the other seat across the small round table. "Might as well sit down while I wait to have enough power to put a bullet through your head." Ha! He sees through your bullsh*t. He'll figure it out...hopefully.

  • Grant just chuckled, moving to the table with him. “Now that’s just some bullshit right there. You’re clearly on something. If you never liked me, you could’ve just cracked my neck right there and killed me in a split-second out of revenge. I know the old you is in there somewhere. Just don’t know if he’s ever coming back.” That was when Grant took out a detonator, and pressed the button on the side. The entire front half of the building explodes into rubble, leaving not even a doorway to get out of. For all intents and purposes, they were trapped. “Ever wonder why I enter buildings from the side all the time when I hear a scuffle? The answer is explosives. Every time something like this happens, I’m ready to trap everyone inside. Looks like this time it actually worked in my favor.”

  • "Yes, well explosions are pretty damn chaotic and that's exactly what powers this murderous side of me so...thanks. I get to kill you sooner now." He chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "Sadly, my teleportation relies on the other side...which isn't exactly cooperating or yes, I would've killed you far sooner."

  • “Don’t you worry. I know what I’m doing here. Next you’ll probably root through my mind, won’t you? Looking for some sort of violent memory? Heh. I’ve been keeping up, don’t you worry. I saw your fights. I know how you work. As long as you can’t teleport, neither of us can leave. And that means you’ll either kill me and starve yourself of energy to live off of, or I’ll eventually dehydrate, leading to the same outcome. Either way, my girls are safe.” Grant crosses his arms, putting his feet up on the table.

Bedlam sighed and rolled his head back so he was looking up at the ceiling. "Yeah, that's what you think. Your girls are so safe..." He laughed a little, but clearly was more angry than happy at this point by being trapped. "Wanna know something, pops? Panta is going to die. Soon. Maybe not by my hand, but the fact she's all alone and defenseless because she has no control over her power...might not want to be trapped in here."

  • “I couldn’t protect her from those things if I tried. But she has friends, others that care about her just as much as I do. People stronger than me. Younger than me. They can take care of that. I’m not worried as long as me and you are in here, trapped. We’re both doomed, Bedlam. And nobody’s going to come and help you.” Grant pulls a radio from his sister pocket. He turns a dial. “Phi Station this is Alexander Grant requesting immediate backup at these coordinates. Send a squad, don’t let anyone near the building. They try and enter, shoot them dead. If they’re the ones on the list, knock ‘em out and take them to checkpoint Charlie. Any further transmission from this radio is considered hostile deception and is to be ignored under any circumstance. Roger.” Grant turns the knob back to its original position, setting it on the table.

"I was her only protector, Grant. Everyday I made sure to keep an eye on her even when I was no where close to her position. Y'know, I bet I could blow my way through the back of this place or set it on fire to get out." Bedlam gazed around the room. "Of course, I just want her dead now so there's no going back for me. She dies then so does my hesitation."

  • “You can’t even kill me yet. And you won’t get enough power to do that. I’ll make sure of that. As soon as you get close, I’ll grab my gun and blow my own brains out. You’re not leaving this place. And you’re not killing Panta. You see, I’m not afraid of death. I’m at peace with my demons. I know what Hell awaits me in the next world. What about you? Do you know what awaits you? What hell you’re sentenced to? It’s not too late to repent, you know. Give up your soul to the lord. Go on up and live on the fluffy clouds when you starve to death in here? Though, you’re probably too stubborn for that.” Grant chuckles, seemingly amused by the prospect. “You won’t even kill an old man you barely talk to. How could you kill someone who was your best friend in the entire world? My gun’s been over there the entire time. You could’ve killed me at any time. You’re just a coward like me, aren’t you, boy?” Grant takes his feet off the table, looking at Bedlam right in the eyes again, his stony exterior back. “Face it. We’re both going to die in here. You in hate, me in love. I love all of you kids, Bedlam. You. Panta. Traci. Irina. All of you. But you just can’t be allowed to leave. How does it feel to know you’re going to die with one of the only people in this world that bothered to be close to you? That you’re going to orphan some kids? And I’m not talking to this bullshit you that’s going on right now. I’m talking about real, actual you. The one who knew what to say. What to do. How to be a good person. How does it feel?”

Bedlam look horrified for a moment before shaking his head and rolling his eyes, going back to his half amused half angry expression. "It feels great and this IS the real me. I'm no different than my father. My REAL father. I'm a chaos manipulator, it's in the title!" He seemed to be on the brink of tears as he raised his voice, extremely upset for some reason. "I kill and I cause pain and suffering! That's what I'm supposed to do! That's what I will do! I am not weak. I am not a coward!" He slammed his fist onto the table, breaking it apart. He then slowly began to relax in sit seat again, leaning back.

  • And then Grant just smiled. He’d done it. He’d broken Bedlam apart and seen what had made him tick. And now he’d use that to his advantage. “If this was really you, and you were really like your father, then why am I not dead? Why am I not the one with a few ounces of lead inside of them right now? You wouldn’t even have to wait to get power.” Grant got up, walking to where his pistol had been tossed. He walked over to Bedlam, handing him the gun. “If you’re no coward, shoot me right now like you say you will. Kill me. Either way this goes, the world outside us does nothing but win. I die and you starve to death in any situation. So you gonna get that one last taste of blood?” Grant sits back down. “Face it, kid. I love you and you love me. We’re family. Something is holding you back or I’d already be dead by now. And if you prove me wrong and shoot me, then all you’re doing is speeding up the process for the both of us.”

  • Bedlam took the gun with a raised brow, standing up afterwards and pointing it straight at Grant's head. "Well, that's not how my head works. Ya see, I have complete control at the moment because the other side of me gave me control, hoping you'd kill me and therefor weaken me greatly if not completely destroy me. Luckily, you cared too much and now that part of me will be lost forever. Congrats. You killed Bedlam by not killing Bedlam." He laughed. "This is really funny to me. You know, the only reason I haven't killed you yet is because I was thinking about the fact I have no way to escape. Now I realized I can just start a small fire and watch it grow until I can get out. There's no reason to keep you alive except to have someone to talk to...I get bored easily."

  • Grant began to laugh as well, but his sounded slightly manic opposed to being amused. He looked Bedlam straight in the eyes again, this time nothing being there. Let’s just say... Grant was a very good actor. “Well then. If you care so little and can do so much, for the hundredth time, why am I not dead? You said you’d kill me as soon as you had the energy for a bullet, so there’s the bullet. I handed you revenge and you still haven’t taken it. And I know why. Because you’re a coward. You’re afraid to kill me. That other side of you isn’t dead. A personality doesn’t die when one is bipolar or whatever the hell, it just goes into dormancy. So, you see, I know for a fact that good side is still inside of you no matter what. And I know for a fact that you cannot start a fire. If you could use that to get power, you would’ve already done it. So, allow me to narrow some options for you.” Grant pulls a knife from the inside of his duster, and begins to spin it in his hand. “You’ve got some options here now. You kill me with that gun right there. You dig through all my memories for power. Or I plunge this knife into my chest and you never leave... I think we know what’s about to happen, Bedlam.” Grant raises his knife, and viciously stabs himself in the chest with the serrated blade, blood beginning to pour.

  • "NO!" Bedlam dropped the gun and ran over to Grant, holding him as his eyes began to water. "N-No...No! Grant! Don't die! I'm so sorry! I can't heal you...I can't heal you....Why can't I heal you?!" His face quickly becomes covered with tears. "Please tell me you have another stimpack...please....I can't watch you die." I can heal him....

  • Grant chuckled again, leaning forwards, blood beginning to pool in his seat. “Th-There’s my boy. Mind... Do you mind stayin’ like this until I’m gone...? Would be awful for my last sight to be somethin’ full of hate, now wouldn’t it? Check my pockets... Not sure if I only brought one or more... Getting forgetful as I ge... • There wasn’t much in there, some extra ammo and such. But there was one thing in there that could help. A small sack of healing powder. It may not be enough, but it’d at least prolong his life a little.

  • Bedlam quickly took the knife out and applied the powder, rushing as fast as he could. "Heal him!" End. Your. Life. The gun flew into his hand as he pointed it at his own head, finger on the trigger with his whole hand shaking. Do it. There's easily enough power for me here to heal him.
