That’s simply wrong. At the end of the day, the decisions to implement things into the game falls to Bungie, and so too does the blame. The big problem is that the dev management is ultimately caught up in one huge circle jerk and that they are only making changes that they feel is best for themselves rather than what is best for the gamers.
You know why you see people complaining about various issues that end up filling the Trending page of both #Destiny and #Feedback? I’ll tell you why: it’s because all those people hate the shitty changes being made in the first place. A good example would be the rep system for factions. Everyone was used to that system because it actually rewarded you for doing activities. You got a rank-up package that guaranteed a faction weapon or armor piece. That was that. Sane thing with Iron Banner. You hit Rank 3 or 5 and you were guaranteed IB gear. Also, gear would actually drop in IB so grinding for a set was realistically possible and if you didn’t get a certain piece then you’d be able to buy it up front from Lord Saladbowl if he put in stock. So, what happened there? Why did that system get thrown out the way it did? Nobody likes an unrewarding grind, yet you could play up to 20 matches in D2’s IB to turn in tokens for a package, only to end up getting generic gear that can be obtained literally anywhere else in the game. That crappy design slows down hardcore players from reaching a goal while also hurting the more casual playerbase that D2 is now aimed towards. If it was to slow down players from playing too much in too little time then it worked, albeit at the cost of turning players away from the game altogether.
