Triggered
Eddie pushed up towards the front of the phalanx, fearing the arrows coming from the ramparts far more than the hectic close-quarters combat that he was approaching. The light anti-stab armor that he wore might protect him from a crossbow bolt, but he really didn’t want to take that chance.
He kept a low profile, keeping his head down and remaining on the outskirts of the phalanx, waiting for the opportunity to break ranks, and fight targets with more discretion than the crowded melee could provide.
Lmao
Soon, that breaking of ranks came. As Cain would lead a surrounding flank from the right side of the battlefield, at least from Eddie's position, both sides of the battle would truly clash against each other, ranks and rows breaking apart in mere seconds as the chaos ensued. Eddie had more than a few opportunities to leap into combat, perhaps even follow the cavalry in charging the gates, if he wanted to take that chance.

It was tempting to try his hand at honorable melee combat, but somebody had to take care of the archers. Attempting to grapple up to the top from the front was a death-wish... but they weren’t expecting anyone coming from their flanks. If he wanted to get on top of the wall, Eddie’d have to get creative. Still disguised by the Trayvon Vanguard, Eddie scanned the area for a staircase or ladder that could bring him to the archers’ positions. If there were none in sight, he’d probably try his hand at using his grappling hook to scale the wall from the back.

Eddie wouldn't find ladders that could reach up to the looming stone walls, at least not yet. Such things were far behind, amongst the slowly approaching battering ram. And even then.. he could use the stones set within the wall, for even as they were strong, there were still plenty of ledges that he could scale.
