"Faster, John!"
"I can't just magically run faster, Fey!"
Bolts of solar energy skimmed the helmet of a Warlock as Vex shot at him from behind. He was running as fast as he could through the Black Garden, trying to find an exit as the whole place started to collapse. Rock and debris fell down to block his way, causing him to slide into it as he tried to stop himself.
"F*CK!"
The Vex had him cornered with no ability to fight back. His ammo was depleted, his light drained, and armour already scorched from prior skirmishes. The young Warlock stood up with raised fists as he panted, his hot breath smudging up the visor of his helmet.
"Hey, at least we completed the mission..." The Warlock stated, sounding a bit disappointed he wasn't going to live through this.
The female sounding Ghost replied, "I may have the ability to transport us into the ship from here, John, just...hang on. We've come this far, we can make it."
The Ghost tried to reassure her Warlock as the Vex closed in on his location, firing at will. The man sprinted forward with the little enrgy he had left, his legs burned and ached from having to work so hard for so long. He breathed heavily and coughed, barely able to move from exhaustion.
His shoulder bashed into the middle of a vex, hitting it in its weak spot just hard enough to kill it. He stumbled and rolled only to kick another vex in its weak spot at the end of the roll. The Warlock's mind turned into overdrive as he attempted to survive, trying to keep track of all the vex attacking him so he could dodge their shots and blasts from their hands.
It didn't take long for his attempts at dodging to fail as he felt a blast of solar energy melt away a part of one of his shins. He screamed in agony, falling to his knees with fear and pain racing through his head.
I'm going to die here....My Ghost couldn't possibly resurrect me with so many vex around.
Another blast hit his shoulder, causing another scream while his arm went limp.
At least the Darkness is defeated...
Rubble from way up above on the ceiling began to fall towards his position, exposing the bright blue sky of Earth as light crept in through the crack.
...We did it. We killed the Traveler.
As the Warlock was about to get crushed however, he vanished.
===============
It was another day at Dojoville as the Warlock appeared up in the sky just outside of the town. He glided a bit, but the fall was still extremely rough and cracked his helmet.
The townsfolk looked over for a second before shrugging, used to this sh*t by now.
"John, stay with me. I can heal this."
Fey, the Ghost, hovered over John's limp body as she began to heal him.
"Wait, who're you?"
The Ghost noticed you standing nearby, having almost been hit by the fallen Warlock.
"Sorry for almost crushing you, but my Warlock was in danger..."

While the civilian that had nearly been crushed had sprinted away, yelling a little.. the Ghost would see something in the distance. The shifting Nexus, as if the Vex, against all odds.. had decided to follow them. They were coming, there was no doubt to that, as a metallic hum would ring throughout the town, like a deep horn signifying the beginning of war.
-
The Ghost then freaked out a little rushing to heal its Warlock. "Come on, John. Get up! We need to run or fight or something!" The Warlock slowly got to his knees, looking over at the anomaly nearby, sighing. "So determined, aren't they?"
-
>"Defiler!"< The single word would screech out from the shifting, ever changing Nexus, it's ocean that weaved throughout reality suddenly halting into a frozen shape, the cracks and shapes suddenly opening some gateway within it's brilliant shape. The booming war cry would recede, replaced by a light humming of simple proportions, yet random as well. >Justice shall be dealt. For their crimes. For what they dared to do. You will perfect them, Existential Ascended.< Out would come a humanoid figurine, dropping down from the mass of shifting Nexus. She was coated in what appeared to have been a Genysm Knight set, the fabric and weave contorting with Vex weavings, the plating mixed with a silverly metal. A Vex Guardian?
-
John, the Warlock, got up to his feet with his left arm clutching his side. His armor was beyond repair to the point of it being impossible to tell what it originally was. The injured light wielder began to jog toward the town, knowing that staying in the open was the worst possible scenario in his condition if the other Guardian proved hostile, which he heavily expected it to be.
-
The Vex Guardian seemed to be hostile, as the Hunter would then begin to sprint after the Warlock, like a predator after wounded prey. She looked like a Bladedancer, as a twisted, jagged knife would formulate within her right hand, a close-range sidearm corrupted by Vex technology formulating in her left. John suddenly felt a hazing heat as a bolt of solar zoomed past his head.
-
"F*ck....Of course! Why not combine my two enemies?!" John shook his head, trying to calm himself. He only knew of one way to possibly win this...and he needed to be calm.
-
>"DEFILER! Face your fate!"< Another bolt shot past John, steadily closer. Dodging to the side and into an alleyway would work, for a time..

Edited by Stitch: 12/4/2017 1:00:33 AM"Give up already! You Vex just keep losing!" He tried to stay behind cover while moving building to building, buying time.
-
>"Not when we took Kabr into the Vault! Not when we took Praedyth! Venus! Mercury! And not when I end you, defiler of the Garden!" The feminine voice, yet contorted by a deep metallic ring, would yell as she would continue to stalk John. Utilizing the buildings had thrown her off, though.
-
His voice now seemed to come from several directions, sounding as if he were whispering right beside her. "Defiler? I did far more than just defile..."
-
">Silence, worm-! -You will pay for what you've done!"< The feminine voice would then take over, as a Ghost would fly overhead, it's scrying red eye rippling throughout the area. The thing was searching for John, like a terrible Gorgon of the Vault's depths..
-
Suddenly a sticky flux grenade was thrown at her from seemingly no where. "Worm? I mean, I am using something I learned from the Hive to do the voice thing..."
-
>Nine degrees. *POMP!* - The solar shot blasted through the grenade, incinerating it suddenly. The Vex Ghost peered it's eye to the area, scanning it suddenly.
-
"Alright, f*ck this..." The warlock blinked in front of the corrupted Guardian, shooting out his palm and sending a huge load of arc energy toward his target. There was far more power behind the strike than that of a normal warlock melee.
-
>Blink! She would only save herself in a literally second, and yet the Vex still took damage. The Guardian was sent slamming back into the wall, arc shocking throughout her armored being. The Vex Guardian would cry out a little - a surprisingly humane yell - as she stared upon John, her face hidden by the glassy dome of her helmet. >"Alright.. Stormcaller." She recited to herself quietly. It was.. odd.
-
"I'm far more than a Stormcaller, honey." Arc energy crackled and shot out from his being as an aura of it seemed to cover his whole body. He threw a hand outward towards the Vex Guardian, lightning flew from his hand and on to the enemy.
-
Celkym's pistol would suddenly fade away as she grabbed her knife, swinging upwards: the Void blade separated the lightning, as if it was beyond Light entirely. It was as if the lightning slowed, yet she sped up.. >"And I am far more than a Vex, darling."< Celkym said, twirling her knife as time returned to the norm.
-
"Hmm....We both have tricks." The arc kept crackling around him as he walked towards her. "Too bad you feel the need to kill me. I'd enjoy a talk with you."
-
>"You destroyed the G.. my Garden. You killed your own Traveler.."Celkym sighed, though she didn't suddenly lunge out. At least, not yet.
-
"I'm sorry I destroyed your garden, but I had to in order to save my people...same with killing the Traveler. I fight the Darkness, no matter how much people may hate me for it. Think about it. What's the true enemy of the Vex? The Light? No, it just wants to live in peace and fights in self-defense. The Darkness wants destruction. The Darkness can never have peace. I don't want to hurt you or your people...believe me." The arc energy died down as got into a less aggressive stance.
-
"The Vex corrupt - no, perfect - whatever they - we - touch and find.. that is what we do.. perfect." Celkym would murmur quietly, returning her hidden gaze to John. She was almost human. Almost, as she lowered her dagger a little. But she seemed prepared, yet. John had hit her weakness - her humanity, something that naturally fought against the Vex's control. She was still focused, if it was a trap..
-
"You don't have to perfect everything violently though....People want to improve, but when you wave a gun in their face they might become hesitant. Think of all the lives you've ruined. The families torn apart because you've killed parents and children. None of that has to happen. It may take time for people to want to be changed, but you guys don't have to worry about time, do you?"
-
"I didn't.. I didn't-" The female voice, as if it was about to break, would suddenly grow deep and hateful with a humming roar, as she brought up her knife and slashed at the Warlock's throat, the Void edge glistening with a destructive glare.
-
The warlock barely leaned back in time to not have his throat cut wide open as he took a quick step back and used it to push off the ground and blink on top of the building ahead. "I tried being friendly!"
-
"Friendly? Your conviction and false words are friendly?" That sinister metallic tone would take over once more, as the Hunter would literally begin to scale the wall. Her physical agility and dexterity would kick in, as she would climb the very walls of the alleyway in order to reach the Warlock. John was right. These Vex were incredibly dedicated.
