Three loud cracks where heard then, from farther down where she originally stood, two of them striking his belt, but one nicked a grenade, and the result was glorious. In the face of a .50 BMG, the grenade exploded, taking the other two members with it, and engulfing Jason in flames. However to himself, it likely wouldn't so much.
But his weapons, the extreme heat hopefully would cause his rounds to pop ant explode, wasting ammunition if it did happen.
Amanda was revealed for a moment, the Bushmaster going off revealing her location, although three seconds later, she vanished again, roughly 1/6th of a mile away.
And most likely still retreating.

While Amanda surely is capable, it’s important to realize or expect that Jason is capable of finding a counter attack. [/spoiler]
