Chapter Four
Open to the vanguard.
On The Front Lines The City of Khalosh, 11:21 PM Silence. The Trayven host, accompanied by both the warriors of the Dojo and the Valkyries, had set up groups for their vanguard in order to meet and cluster upon the front line - they would join in humble groups, shrouded by the deep darkness of night and the foliage that grew over their shadows. In the distance, the first members of the charge would see Khalosh, or.. something of the sort. It's walls had been refurbished, a wooden-and-stone gateway now blocking the one entrance into the city. Surrounding the city and encasing it within it's shell was a deep, light blue fog, whisking throughout the skies and air as the city itself was eerie silent.. The only way to defeat the larger force, without starving them out, was a literal surprise charge and a lot of dead captains and lieutenants on the Tribune's half of the battle. Then, the siege horn would ring. A deep, booming thing, as those patrols and Tribune archers whom would stand upon the wall walk would suddenly draw their eyes and bows towards the outside of Khalosh. From there - the vanguard would charge out. The vanguard would be accompanied by a full-on wall of scutum-wielding troops, charging towards the city in a clustered row. A warning horn would breeze throughout Khalosh, bells ringing throughout the city as civilians, soldiers, and mercenaries alike either retreated from the impeding siege, or would head towards it. The iron doors of Khalosh would creak open only for a moment, as a welcoming party of Tribune troops would storm towards the assaulting vanguard. And yet, behind the vanguard..
For the assault members and vanguard in total.
"FOR THE GOLDEN LION!" Freya's battlecry would ring across the impeding chaos, as the armies would make their way towards the walls of Khalosh. Those whom would arrive first would have to assist the vanguard and manage to push forwards, for far behind them, a battering ram had begun progress throughout the road of the forest. The idea was to use such a siege as a distraction - and yet, be capable of eliminating the Tribune's efforts as well.
For the assassins.
"...She's a fuсking idiot. Still my sister." Isabella would murmur, as she had lead those whom wouldn't be attacking throughout a rather.. different area: one of the few recovered tunnel networks that was both kept hidden from the Tribune's scrying eyes, and one that hadn't collapsed after so much time. Such a tunnel was apparently utilized by a mafia boss, according to the information gathered by Natalie, when the first attack upon Khalosh had seemed to be in the works yet kept secret. Isabella would finally bring the assassins up a ladder and into what was an abandoned building. The sounds of charging troops and yells were in the distance, albeit not close to the building. "Could've used this place, Tribs. Literally gave up on the tunnel and building, oh well." Isabella whispered, as she then turned back to her small group of mercenaries, murderers, and generally untrustworthy people. "Alright.. captains, lieutenants, commandos, majors - whatever's out there, maybe their damn general is - point is, we need you guys to kill 'em off. These Tribune asshats will scatter afterwards.. they're probably wearing white and gold, so they'll be easy to recognize. Y'all good, or what? You need a quick bathroom break, now's the time. I'm heading down and joining the assault.. even though that fuсking walk through the tunnel is tiring as hell."

  • Alpha would find that she was being hunted, still. But this time, by another, as an arrow jolted past her head, nicking the tip of her ear with it's razor blade. "I'm a better shot than you could ever be. What, you gonna teleport away again?" Traci and Athena had begun to move out, as Alpha's attacker had.. disappeared. The cocky, light male voice rang in her head, as if telepathic. Perhaps this was a captain.. or worse.

  • She'd had enough of telepaths. When she moved, the building was on fire, making it impossible to make her trail out from normal smoke. The girl re-formed on a tower, and then activated her thermal optics.

  • As Alpha took to setting the building on fire, she would hear.. screaming, from within. It would begin to dawn on her, throughout the chaos.. The civilians were hiding. "...Wow. Got even more reason to finish this up." Alpha would see several heat signatures throughout the buildings and rooftops, before she found three unique ones in particular - three targets, all aiming flaming bows. They would surely hit if they let go. "So, which one's which? Middle, left, or right? I'd go for the right."

  • She was in a full suit of miner's armor meant to withstand heavy impacts from small asteroids in space. Arrows wouldn't work. She raised her rifle, and the fire would die as soon as it started. The smoke however, was a different story. She fired to the left, then middle, then right, in quick succession, preparing to move again.

  • "WRONG!" As the first two fell, Alpha suddenly felt the final arrow slamming into her chest, seemingly sending her flying back. She couldn't feel.. anything, as if she had been punched and knocked out, except still conscious. She did find herself lucky though, landing in a tree in a small park near the chaos. In the distance, she'd see a new captain, likely one that wasn't as much trouble. A warrior, leading what appeared to have been a phalanx of some sort.

  • She crouched, checking over herself. After a quick glance, she only felt and saw superficial wounds. Alpha would then lie flat on her belly, waiting for when the least amount of attention was focused on the officer.

  • It was difficult for Alpha to get a shot in once the phalanx was heading into the flow of combat, but she could manage one, when the captain turned back, ordering his men to head in. From there, the captain would begin to escort a bloodied, beaten Trayven woman, from the battlefield. Her hair was a brilliant white color, stained with blood red, as her figure stumbled with each step. She was apparently stabbed in the shoulder. "Move, bаstard." That was all that the captain would say. Alpha could go ahead and take the shot, potentially save the young woman as well. Though.. bаstard was a unique term to use.

  • She switched down to a caliber that wasn't as loud, but wasn't as powerful, and sighted him. She let off a small burst, to hit him in the neck and back of head and between the shoulders.

  • The neck and head shots were enough, as blood suddenly splattered upon the tattered Trayven woman, her screams piercing the air. They were almost.. powerful, as Alpha's own ears throbbed at the yell. What was going on? The woman stumbled back, running into the depths of an alleyway of Khalosh. Alpha could chase after her.. or continue her mission.

  • She went after her. If her mere screams were that powerful....she'd be a good asset. She went gas and solid quickly "Hey! Wait!" alpha yelled "I'm on your side!"

  • "No you're not! You're another one! A spirit, sent to haunt! A witсh, sent to capture! Rose!" The girl screamed again, and soon Alpha's vision turned blurry, as if something was beginning to interfere. When she regained consciousness, the girl was.. gone. The alleyway was significantly darker, the warfare in the background drowned out by something. A deep humming noise, transcending from the depths of the void itself. It was as if Alpha was in a state of peace. But something was wrong.

  • She shook her head "I know Rose! Just let me help you!" She cried out, then tried her radio in desperation, hoping someone in the Trayven army had one. "I need help at these coordinates with a POI!"

  • "Understood, but we're kept back here! This giant rock thing's crushing us all-!" Alpha received a response, yet a shrill singing began to ring in her ears. The battle was drowned out, static filling the radio as the chants began to pick up in sound. "In the darkness, shrouded by unfading shadow, Where the light meets nothing, except our Calypso.." A unique, Greek name.

  • "FOR THE BLACK CAT!" Alric's voice rang out from the lines, riding toward the wall of the city with hundreds of dojo warriors at his back. "FOR THE DOJO!" The Lady Elizabeth, who just a few days prior had Desserted the cause yelled out from besides the Bloody Witcher. It was clear he had taken Alpha's advice to heart, to offer a second chance. "FOR THE BURNING KING!" The younger voice of a sergeant yelled out, leading two dozen soldiers of the Burning Isles into combat. The Burning King, Armand Leo, had only offered up the bastard children of his fellow lords instead of offering some of the thousands of troops he had. It would have to do, Alric supposed. "FOR THE DIGHT!" The knightly voice of Ser Jeremiah yelled, running alongside the cavalry and actually managing to keep up somehow. More cries resounded from the army that had gathered, numbering in the small thousand as they charged at the wall. They were proud, honourable, and most of them would most likely not survive the night. This was war, however. Death came with war. Alric knew this fact all too well, thinking back to the Battle of Wolveshire Keep. How many had died? And how many more had died in the Northern Wars that had occurred? So many dead... Alric pushed the thoughts out of his head as he drew his steel blade, ready for war.

  • As the two slides would clash against each other, Alric would see something upon Khalosh's ramparts. Archers had begun to draw back their bows, as a single order - "LOOSE!" - was heard from overhead. The arrows' wrath would then be released, as hundreds of arrows would pelt the Trayven forces. Freya would take cover, as the vanguard would begin to falter.

  • "CHARGE THE GATES!" Alric kicked his horse in the side, charging forward as men and women alike died around him. Dozens fell, but Alric persisted, swinging his blade and cutting down anyone that got too close. Some knights followed his lead, and the small group charged toward the gates of the city. His role was to hold an area. He intended to do that.

  • Alric's cavalry charged had managed to escape the flanking assault on Cain's end, yet the Tribune's own soldiers were too distracted to do anything to stop the cavalry charge, other than blindly attack. Some horses fell to the earth with crying whines, with cleaved legs, or a spear ramming through their bodies. Alric would be victim to such an attack: as a Tribune lancer would thrust her javelin towards his steed's side.

  • Alric used the momentum to propel himself into a roll, moving across the ground as a ball. As his horse crashed to the ground behind him, Alric rolled onto his feet and came up a stop, kneeling in the midst of battle. In a single swipe, he cut the head off the Lancer that had taken down his horse. He hacked and slashed his way through their lines, pushing through towards the gates

Alric would succeed, for a time at least. The gateway would serve as his entrance within, as Alric would enter the courtyard beyond the gates, the Trayvens pushing forward-
Trevor Morris - Saarath here we go, lololol.
A steely grip suddenly wrapped around his shoulder, as Alric's body was suddenly thrown to the side, away from the clashing forces of Trayven and Tribune alike. As Alric would look up, a six foot tall, armored knight would stand before him, his armor adorned with silver and decals, engraved with emblems of old. The armor shined with a near holy look, yet he was not pure, blood dripping off of his previously white shawl and the longsword within his hand hand. The knight had purposefully positioned himself behind the wall so that he would not be facing attackers, pressing his fist against his chest before gripping his longsword. "Justice will be served: to you, to Lady Freya, and to Trayve and it's collaborators."

  • "... Justice for what exactly?" Alric asked calmly as he got to one knee and rose to his feet. He spun his steel blade in his hand, keeping an eye on the knight as he looked around the battle. The Bastards of the Burning Isles were fighting side by side with the Dojo and Trayvern forces, several off their horses and the others fighting either r on top a steed or lying dead in a ditch. Alexander, Elizabeth and Jeremiah were all standing back to back to back, creating a whirlwind of blades that cut through their enemies. Realizing he was most likely on his own, Alric dropped into a defensive stance. Conjuring Igni, the flame wave power of the Witcher... He prepared for a battle.

  • "Justice for the past. Justice for wars past and wars to come, and justice against these lions." There was a familiar passion within the man's voice. Nothing that would give away whom he was, yet the man's tone was.. relatable to yet another. The knight would then grip the hilt of his sword with just one hand, before his being would swerve forwards, as he would then swing the great weapon upwards. There was a certain grace to how he had already swung - already intending to end Alric through a vertical slash, yet he still seemed to have opportunity to handle Alric if he escaped.

  • Alric was... Surprised to say the least, seeing the grace of the large man that was swinging his blade. However, he did not allow that to capture his thoughts. He stepped to the side, narrowly dodging the blade and stabbing the tip of his blade toward the knights shoulder. Aiming more to incapacitate the man's sword arm then commit any murders, the move might have cost him...

The Witcher attempted to move back, but the blunt blade directly hit him in the waist and he took a few steps back, pain shooting up his side. He quickly made a hand gesture, a strange orange overlay over his body and acting as a shield would. He reentered a defensive stance, leaping to the side of the knight and swinging toward the back of his legs.
