Dawnblade feedback (Been posting Sunsinger feedback for years)

While it doesn't make much sense and i'd prefer not to retcon sunsinger. It does look neat aesthetically and at times when i gave up on getting kills in pvp with radiance i'd do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQBdeQ36tCA However as i said: It still really irks me that Sunsinger was abandoned instead of reworked little. I actually like the route that they were going with an airborne angel of death, but it would have been nicer to have more options and to also not change the name without much explanation. -I never cared for self rez personally -I really liked its support potential with Song of flame and solar wind, but they were overlooked and never buffed. -Grenades should have been more potent in Radiance (solar grenade in D1 were bad and firebolts were nerfed) Now in D2 We have The dawnblade that came out of nowhere.
Cons: -I don't see the use in the upper attunement. Being a flying target is a big no no in PvP. -in air accuracy is terrible -Icarus dash cooldown is way too slow, using this in mid air is just going to get me shot, no i-frames. -The base melee ability to slightly burn somthing is vastly underwhelming for a space wizard -The VERY small/weak firefly explosion only works if its a killing blow -Reloading fast after a melee is very boring, also once you melee someone its pretty much going to end as a melee fight. No need to reload during a melee fight in most cases. -Like all stickes, i don't see the use in fusion grenade. The time it takes to stick someone is time that is spent getting shot at by 4 midas.

Pros: -Fated for flame/everlasting fire are good for killing groups of ads -being in the air is fun though it makes you a huge target -Phoenix dive is fun when just goofing around

Suggestions: -Consider making the base melee abilty a nicely sized cone shaped AOE burn/knockback that you have to hold RB to use up (like voidwalkers charging their nade) (should kill a gorup of dregs) -Alternatively, Hold R1 to release a horizontal swing of the blade of dawn in a wide arc. -Consider making the dawnblade a little more resilient/accurate while airborne -Drastically shorten then Icarus dash cooldown (balance it like you did blink its practically the same thing only blink is more effective) -Alternatively make the cooldown of ID reset once you land so its impossible to spam really high up -while you are at it give the hunters a better dodge
For the sake of not changing the game formula, heres an attunement i made up that follow the pattern of other attunements:
Attunement of Sky: (essentialy combines parts of the two trees) I: Solar Wind: Hold R1 to charge a cone of solar wind. Pushes enemies back with a light burn effect. (the cone of burn should be enough to kill a group of dregs) II:Icarus dash/Phoenix dive: Press O, O/B, B while midair to dodge. Hold O/B while midair to quickly descend and restore your health. While Daybreak is active, Descend causes explosive damage. III:Heat rises/winged sun: Airborne kills recharge your Grenade and Melee energy. Engage your enemies mid-flight. Fire weapons and throw grenades while gliding. IV:Everlasting Flame: Killing an enemy with Daybreak extends its duration. Daybreak projectiles seek targets as they travel and, upon impact, launch a streak of deadly flames.

Attunement of Song: (not likely to kill players (but good support) I: Brimstone: Hold R1 to Charge a cone of Solar damage,. Targets killed by Brimstone explode and produce an orb of Light. note: enough damage to kill a group of dregs. II: Radiance: Can no longer shoot projectiles from magical space sword. All abilities have vastly reduced cooldowns while Radiance is active. III: Song of Flame: Allies near radiance while active have slightly(but noticeable) reduced ability cooldowns. (IMPORTANT:Make sure there is an AOE circle to indicate for allies to come near you) IV: Embrace the Sun!: Your (orange) Rift reduces you and your ally's cooldowns while standing in it Note:(2-3 grenades but only when standing in it for the entire duration. Remember this ability has a long cooldown of 1:23 and lasts about 15 seconds so an extra two grenades shouldn't be OP i believe. Just think about Rift soul)
***Notes: -Cooldown reducing perks cannot be stacked with another sun-singer at the same time. -"Embrace the Sun!" cannot reduce the cooldown of another player's Sunsinger Rift

  • Bump because based on the patch notes, bungie still has a vendetta against Solar warlocks.

  • Some feedback on your suggestions: 1) Having both Icarus Dash and Phoenix Dive on the same attunement is too much, especially if you're buffing Icarus Dash. Move (keep?) Phoenix Dive on the other attunement. The buffs you made to Daybreak should make up for the lack of the dive attack. 2) Daybreak projectiles should launch the stream of fire on impact as a default behavior, not as a talent. This is important because the Attunement of Song should be able to choose between Radiance and Daybreak the way the Sentinel chooses between Ward of Dawn and the Shield. 3) Another comparison to the Sentinel: the perk that allows the Sentinel to use Ward of Dawn provides Armor of Light, the "default" modifier for the Ward, intrinsically. Since Song of Flame was the first modifier for Radiance, that same logic should apply, so only one talent is needed. That makes room for Phoenix Dive to remain. 4) Neither Radiance nor Embrace the Sun should affect class abilities, only the Melee and Grenade. There are a couple of potential synergies that could be problematic otherwise. 5) Brimstone shouldn't create orbs of light. All talents that could do so without super usage have been removed from the game. Besides, it sounds pretty good already without that element.

    • In a nut shell. "Make Dawn blade OP" Dawn blade is already good. Good nade, good class ability, good melee that burns and you get a 3rd of your health back by jumping in the air every 2-3 secs. Also good super that tracks
